  1. Agreed. Has no-one got morals these days. I mean if Brad was kind enough to do the honours it's only right to look him in the eye.
  2. There are so many puns to make, but I just can't without giving the answer away!
  3. Well you can tell by the way I use my torque, I'm an accurate man, putting studs on the quad sssq11+
  4. Few weeks ago there was an inquest at work after a fine was received for a bus lane infringement. The picture showed the ranger, plant trailer and digger on a Friday morning, it was me. I had no option but to reveal that on Friday mornings I identify as an Edinburgh bus driver and hope for clemency, but alas I'm not free to be me, still oppressed under this totalitarian regime. One day I hope a time will come when I can openly be a bus driver in any city, on any day I choose without fear, without being given a punitive Β£50 fine!

  6. Morning all. Thanks for asking Pete and Stephen, all's ok. He's at home with the family, quite sore and scarred but he's in good spirits and looking forward to christmas. He/we are feeling very lucky. Windy here today, I'm at my Monday job at the riverside in a bit, maybe clear some willow. Have a good one folks. Edit. Just to confirm I don't identify as He/We now.
  7. Firstly, you've been obfuscating so long you must have forgotten the question! How appropriate. However, for me you've answered it with the last post, more obfuscation. Clearly you're having real difficulties standing by your opinion. What an unhappy place to reside.
  8. Gareth, could you answer a direct question without going down an unintelligible, meandering path of obfuscation. Personally I come to one conclusion. If any man, however much I agreed with their political stance, sporting prowess, or business acumen, thought it was fine to be grabbing some woman by the kitten or creeping around trying to perv on or manipulate young women, or is associating with peodophiles, I'm done. The last one I met in real life (the archetypal creepy uncle at a wedding) was invited to a quiet corner while it was explained what was acceptable behaviour around my mates daughter. Regardless of semantics around the law, proof of one thing over another, they've displayed a complete lack of morality and that is how I'll judge them, on their unacceptable behaviour. I found that very easy.
  9. We use the same commercial free tip sites for chip around the city depending on what's closer. We tend to use places that are easy for us (no prior arrangement required and easy access), but we have a few people who've approached us directly for chip (allotments, a market garden and a guy with lots of hens) and when they ask we'll tip a load for them at the earliest opportunity. No payment is asked but they always show their appreciation. Either some fresh veg, or coffee and a cake, or a box of free range eggs for everyone. All parties are happy with that. On occasion we're out of area working we'll use the tip site directory on arbtalk to find somewhere suitable, or go to a commercial site.
  10. It was a pretty intense hour and it has affected us, but the business and the team I'm with have been so supportive and professional in the days after which is very positive. Also our protocols and capabilities received complimentary feedback from the medical people that attended, and we've been approached by a chap that formerly worked on casualty evacuation in Afghan who had some very kind words to say, so I'm feeling quite proud of what we achieved. I've always felt it's helpful to be open and communicative about these things and I'd like to speak more freely about it but it's not appropriate, for now anyway.
  11. You've just delivered the first par since last Thursday Mick. Think we needed that.
  12. I'm sure you will do Bob but seeing those words I'm compelled to say please take it seriously, take as much as you can from it and keep it at the front of your mind in the future. Won't say much, but I'm still feeling quite emotional and keep going over an event last week where my emergency response/first aid was tested to the limit. I'm so glad now that I've treated these courses as valuable, and little things like enacting emergency information boards on site in addition to RA, actually having comprehensive first aid kit at hand, as well as being in the habit of carrying my personal trauma kit attached to me rather than leaving it somewhere handy. We all know it can be a dangerous job but when that risk is suddenly realised and the situation is critical these things are invaluable. I should say at this point that everyone will see a happy christmas with their loved ones, but that may not have been the case without excellent emergency preparation, comprehensive first aid kits, and the basic knowledge to use them. Sorry it's my turn to preach Bob, but it's very fresh for me and was by far the most serious event of my working life. We tend to say "stay safe out there" a lot, please do everyone. πŸ‘
  13. Morning all. Typically I woke up at work o'clock for no reason again. I miss being able to sleep til lunchtime without any effort at all! Beech hedge reduction completed yesterday, took about 7' off it. They were dealing with arisings themselves, I enjoyed their surprise at the magnitude of what they'd taken on. "Didn't realise there'd be so much stuff from just cutting a hedge". Mr Blair, your absence on the register was noted yesterday, we'll make an allowance due to your cutters xmas outing on Friday. Have a good one folks.

  15. A drive by shooting on squirrels, love it. Only question is Uzi or a mac10, blud?
  16. Morning all. NescafΓ© for me, rarely drink tea. Hedge reduction to finish off today. Homer. Still hearing myself say yes when I'm really thinking no but I'm working on that. It's a long road and change is never easy but I'm determined I'll get to a point where my automatic response is no, I don't want to burst myself on my day off doing the most miserable type of work because your gardener didn't manage it. Have a good one folks, I won't.

  18. I didn't get far enough through the alphabet for a bower, did manage boner though. Some say that's a win in itself at our age.
  19. A few others! My god it's been this threads darkest hour. So many of our band of committed, experienced wordlers fell today. There should be a minute's silence annually henceforth.
  20. I do believe life should exist elsewhere in the universe. Likely a whole array of life, including life forms mankind couldn't even conceptualise let alone classify in our supremely narrow and limited "knowledge" of existence. I can also imagine a civilisation evolving millions of light years away from earth to such a degree that the universe is literally their oyster. With technology that is so far advanced we haven't even dreamed of it, and most likely we will be another extinct earth species long before we could ever equal their achievements. I do struggle though when it comes to why, if they do exist, they would repeatedly visit the same place for decades on end studying such inferior species as ours whilst trying, yet failing spectacularly to remain unknown. Them having anything more than a fleeting glance at our planet is what's unbelievable.
  21. We use one of the Cardo versions, mainly because you can connect multiple units. Been very impressed and they'd certainly meet your requirements. No experience of the other brands.
