  1. It's funny but I'm fairly used to the experience, this feels very different though as I can barely remember a time with no dog at all to consider. Was hard the other day on the grapple truck job, it was at a dogs trust property. Every time I went through a particular gate I was facing a kennel with a lovely gsd who would stand up expectantly, then as I turned away he'd lie down again. Desperately wanted to take him with me!
  2. Speak up laddie, ah cannae hear a word yer sayin'
  3. Remember I'm up the road Alex, it's still called a walk in the woods and we can do it wherever we fancy for free! Although it feels horribly wrong to do it without the company of at least one dog.
  4. Morning all. Suffering again this morning, but a little less. Yesterday morning I spent a considerable amount of time trying to deduce what was 'beeping' around the house. A series of 3 beeps repeating, like morse code, then it would disappear, then hear it again. I unplugged electrical appliances one at a time in between standing still listening intently like a dog on the hunt. Eventually I went outside and realised it must be a new level of tinnitus from Friday's restaurant/pub experience. The oh kindly took me to a Nepalese restaurant last night for a birthday meal which was exactly the same assault on my ears again, only a couple of hours but I'm hearing all sorts today. Anyway, yesterday I spent the afternoon quietly hanging about in the woods on my own which was bliss, think I'll repeat today. Have a good one folks.

  6. Morning all. Feel like I did six tours in the Vietnam war yesterday! Really not used to being that sociable, or being in the city. Stupidly I thought I was used to it due to working there every day but a very different place without ppe as armour and signs to keep them back! Never thought to take my protos with me but I missed it in the pub! Anyway a good day out was had by all and the oh rescued me early so I missed the "youngsters" shots carnage. @Stephen Blair Tom says hello. Have a good one folks.

  17. Morning all. Been a really good week at work this week but we're all off today. Heading in to auld reekie in civvies for a change to meet management, the surveyors and the other team for our big christmas lunch. It's a bit of a day for me having woken up this morning another year older, I can now officially be admitted to the 50 and over thread! Bit sad as Cassie and I shared a birthday, she should have joined me today with her 14th but life didn't pan out as hoped, often the way. Have a good one folks.

  22. The only thing I'm unable to remember is the previous pseudonym, but to be fair it was quite a short lived and unmemorable membership the last time, quite an amateur attempt compared to some of the usernames in arbtalk infamy.

  25. The operator had it on his remote display, load and percentage of capacity. The trunk that was left below was 2t.
