  1. usually a sale agreement will have a none compertition clause , say a period of 12 months were you cannot engage in the same busines activity or approach any client
  2. I charge by the day and half day depending on how far i have to travel .works well. i have just changed my machine to farmi self powered. i do quite a bit.
  3. been doing it for about the last 6 years
  4. speak to the man and find out what the problem is
  5. Remove all the leaves, dry it, then shred it finely and it will be suitable for use in a smoker. I get a lot of waste oak and beech dust / shavings when I make furniture. I barter a few bags of this in exchange for a big bag of sausages, bacon, roasting joints etc from the local farm that produces free range pork and smokes all their own meat. A good start would be to see if there's anyone local interested that would trial it for you, and if they are, just hire a small shredder and go from there.
  6. A good starting point for valuation is Value of machinery + between 1 and 3 x annual profit + stock at value (ie timber stocks at time of sale). The profit multiplier depends on how long you have been trading, what the general trend in sales has been over the past few years plus the standard of your customer records etc (eg names, addresses, frequency of order). That gives you a starting price to advertise at, then it really depends on who is looking to buy that kind of business at the moment and ultimately what people are prepared to pay. In terms of where to advertise it, start with on here (you know you're talking to the right kind of audience), then somewhere general like businessesforsale.com or daltons - wouln't bother using an agent to sell it for you, they charge a hefty commission and don't tend to deliver. If your circumstances allow, offer a hand over period, that way the new owner can be gently introduced to all your long term regular customers (since people buy from people), your suppliers, plus any little teething problems and questions along the way. It might not increase the price of the sale, but it will help to sell it. Only other advice would be to have a box ready with all your previous accts, customer records, staff info (if you have any) and list of machinery - this way you've got something organised to show anyone that's seriously interested.
  7. Only thing with conifer is it rots down a bit fast and some types are poisonous. Better with something coarse and woodier, lasts longer.

    Logos?

That's usual with stock photos. If you want something stylised, start with a photo then in whatever package you have (photoshop, illustrator etc) trace lines over the top to define the edges, plus the main features. Then hide the layer with the photo and see how it shapes up. A bit like using tracing paper. Or start with the photo and apply some effects or change the colours until you have something you like.
  9. buff orps are nice, much less chicken under the feathers than you'd think. we have bantam wyandottes, sussex and a couple of hybrids (to make sure we at least get an occasional egg). Also got a small game cockerel at the moment, moved itself in two weeks ago and hopefully getting rid of it tomorrow - it crows from 4am.
  10. i would say leave them with the auto feeder & drinker but ONLY if you have someone prepared to pop their head over the fench once a day to check that feed and water haven't run out, there are no injuries / health issues etc that need to be dealt with. would you leave a dog in the house all week on its own with just a big bowl of water and food? auto feeders & drinker (and the auto pop hole openers for that matter) are great labour saving devices but no replacement for animal husbandry.
  11. Hut looks good, nicely made. might be a good idea to lift the hut about 2 foot off the floor, this will deter the rats and also give the chickens somewhere to sheter when raining. you might want to add a bit on top of the fence as it won't present them with much of a challenge. wood chip (no conifer) is good for the outside run but you'll have to find a good tree surgeon to supply you with some
