    Jokes???

  2. This was late last night, but I didn't want to keep anyone awake with the excitement. Picking the seeds out of hundreds of lupin pods. Did the evening primroses a few days ago, and I'll be doing the snapdragons later this week hopefully.
  3. Ach, look, I'm as big a beer snob as anyone, I like wierd little beers with ridiculous names and artistic scribbles all over the label, that taste like a mown lawn with random chunks of vegetation floating around in them, made with ancient grains and heirloom varieties of hops, brewed by men with big beards and stupid haircuts in reclaimed tin bathtubs in the most pompous parts of town... But I'll still drink a budweiser if it's both ice cold and all that's available.
  4. The 5 nearly 6 year old asked for a castle for his birthday. Slightly over-engineered, not many true right angles in it... good and sturdy, anyway. I'll update once I've added the drawbridge, arrow slits, siege ladder, and a lick of paint.
  5. Catching a 20 story building in mid-air with chopsticks. Man, the future is crazy, yo!
  6. It certainly does! The article quotes someone saying another 40 years' life expectancy on each 100 year old oak... what exactly were they planning to do to them in 2060?
  7. Take it to the covid thread, fellas.
  8. After now 6 years living in Ireland, the snow of the Alps is one of the biggest things I miss, but Baldric misses it more than me. I hope he gets at least one more good snowfall before he turns up his toes. 17216985_501703100219224_5569086502752747520_n.mp4 Regarding leads... another thing I miss about France, which annoys me here in Ireland, is that they are seen as an alternative to training and socialisation. They aren't allowed to stop for a sniff, they are just dragged on. What kind of life is that.
  9. See, that's a much kinder way of putting it than calling us all wrong. I agree with you that most dog owners shouldn't be.
  10. Ah, to be fair, the front seat of the van is pretty much the cage for my two... on their very worst days they'll have 3.5 hours in it in the morning, an hour in the woods at lunch, then 3.5 hours back in the box. But usually on those days my wife picks them up in the afternoon when she's finished school. Also, young Oscar was obviously kept in a cage from 5 to 8 weeks, and who knows before that. But he values the wire cage he came home in as his Safe Space, and just goes in there of his own free will to hang out. He's in it now, chewing on a bit of larch.
  11. Ehh. Telling everyone who chooses to keep a social animal with them instead of locking them up all day that they are wrong seems a little... err, what's the word... retarded. Yeah, that's it. Of course you can train a dog to stay by itself all day. You can train a baby not to cry by ignoring it all day too. It doesn't mean that you should... Defend your own dog keeping behaviour as much as you want, and I'm sure your dog is happy enough... But don't think for a second that you are doing it better than the rest of us.
  12. It does seem a bit too wallet-friendly all right!
  13. Nice one, the 220 is probably a bit much for him then. I'll look into TW150, I expect they crop up on 2nd hand sites often enough. Any idea what this Irish company might be like? Wood Chippers for Sale at Hartnett Products, Cork WWW.HARTNETT-PRODUCTS.IE Wood Chippers, Garden Shredders, Mulchers for Sale from Hartnett Products. Turn your woody garden...
  14. I echo all of the above. Dogs aren't gerbils, they shouldn't be left locked up all day. Some breeds more than others, of course. Mine come to work with me, I walk them whenever I get the chance, they get a good spin at lunch, and depending on what I'm doing they are often able to hang out with me. I was clearing scrub from around and between polytunnels last week, a load of self-seeded birch, alder, sycamore, etc., the dogs had great fun dragging them all out of the way. Or into the way, sometimes. They don't really understand the intricacies of the task, but they are happy to be involved.
  15. Ah right, I see. Yeah, 540 I think. Let me double check with the guy, I could have sworn he ssid about 25hp off the PTO when I was chatting to him, so I guess he's mistaken about something... What are your specs, what have you got on yours?
  16. Is that rpm?
  17. Bump! What chipper could you put on a lovingly-restored MF 178? I'm asking for a guy I'm doing a job for later in the year, I said we'd need to hire a chipper for 2 days, he said he'd been thinking of buying a PTO for his new toy and would rather put the money towards that. I told him I'd ask a bunch of experts, so here we are! He's able to go new or used... what would you recommend? Tractor data suggests PTO of 62hp... TractorData.com Massey Ferguson 178 tractor information WWW.TRACTORDATA.COM Looking straight away at Greenmech for example, where the options are the Chipmaster 220 for up to 80hp, or the Eco 150 for up to 45hp... but can you not put an Eco 150 on a 62hp machine and just not push it too hard? Or does it not work like that? Chipmaster 220 TMP - Tractor Mounted Wood Chipper | GreenMech Ltd GREENMECH.CO.UK The Chipmaster 220 TMP Woodchipper is designed with a high tensile steel chassis... ECO 150 TMP - Tractor Mounted PTO Woodchipper | GreenMech Ltd GREENMECH.CO.UK The ECO 150 TMP Woodchipper is used in landscape, golf courses &...
  18. Zionist.
  19. Don't be so humble, easily Post of the Decade.
  20. Outstanding. Bit cloudy up by us, I missed both nights this time around. Was up the hill with the dogs until after 10, but doesn't seem to be clearing.
  21. I, for one, am shocked! Shocked!
  22. Ty Korrigan said: You recall Brexit? The loss of the automatic right to live and work in the 27 member countries of the E.U? Well that doesn't sound very helpful, does it. Who's bright idea was that?
  23. Hm, they don't really look right do they. Where did you buy it? I'd say the tree was mislabelled.
  24. When you say green tinge, is this as well as the pinkish flesh you'd hope to see in a Discovery... or instead of? Could you show us a photo of the graft, as if there's no display of pink at all the graft could quite well have failed, and you are just growing the rootstock fruit instead...
