  1. It’s one I got from Rob D. Not Stihl or Husky. Was using a 365, just no good for anything more than 36” lo pro. So went with a cheaper option until I can afford a proper monster. Though it’s 92cc and has done well so far. Can’t fault it for milling. Surprisingly good to be fair. Touch wood. When the time is right and the notes are available then I suppose it’s going to have to be the 881, but need to sell some more boards for that.
  2. Yes well,I thought it was more the ghost of Mickey Mouse[emoji106]but now you mention it....
  3. Better weather and less mud. Finished off some big beech.
  4. It’s a tree. Does it grow anything like spikey balls at all?
  5. I see ash and willow. Willow can go an orange colour too when cut. Just saying......
  6. I run the husqvarna pole saw and strimmer. Great bits of kit. Also use tanaka and have done for some years, also good as you say. The only thing is, I would rather start using a battery pole saw of similar spec to the petrol. I've got the very long husqvarna battery polesaw which gets me up about 5 metres and its just as good if not better than the petrol machine. But don't need it that big for most pruning jobs.
  7. Did a bit more sycamore today.
  8. Got it into the barn. Great colour.
  9. That’s very nice indeed. Well I’ve got bits and bobs around. Maybe one day some alder floor boards.
  10. To be fair, I felled it as it was hanging out along a path, so decided it would be nice to try milling it. So long story short. No plan yet. And you?
  11. Bits and pieces over the last few days. Little bits of Ash A few lengths of alder. Sycamore today.
  12. You’re right of course. Yes a bigger ladder is on the shopping list. [emoji106]
  13. I can't say if the way I am doing it is the best method to be fair. But it seems to work alright and having done a few chunky monsters recently this way, it has seemed to work fine. Did some 16 foot long beech recently, this one is about 14 foot, though I still need to measure the length exactly.
  14. Well it was a little more technical than a plop, but yes, I screwed it down, then moved it along when I got to the end of the first section. These big beeches take a really long ladder.
  15. Another big spalted beech on the mill.
  16. Ok ta. That's all I wanted to know. Yes logosol F2+ for christmas I hope. Well maybe before if I can get some more of this timber moved.
  17. Beautiful wood! Love the oak! Question for the enlightened. Is it worth having a small milling bar for those logs of 15" or less diameter? I have a 36" and 48" bar, have some smaller logs, yew, alder, ash which I want to mill up, just wondering if there is any point in getting a 20-24" bar on a small mill?
  18. Whats the cost of the lucas mill?
  19. Ah yes. Jolly good. That’s what I thought too. Lol! Nice kit though to be fair
  20. Beautiful lighting on the fox shot and nice looking guy too. Do you know what equipment he was using?
  21. Well thanks for the info. Cracking work on the rocking horse!!!
  22. interesting. Can you give me an idea of what you or others might sell a 10’ board of spalted beech or oak for? Say 2.5’ wide and 50mm thick?
  23. Thanks for the advice. Well I can move them and store them, but its pretty heavy handballing them onto the trailer and off again. However if they will sell at that length, then I shall keep em as long as I can.
