How much was lifetime membership?

Do you get free parking at all national trust (carrying the proper logo) sites and car parks? They can be bloody expensive some of em [emoji33]?

Hey all, just as title thread suggests, been pondering on signing up to the national trust membership. Can anyone give any for and against points on the matter? we enjoy looking round everything old and also are interested in the grounds and scenery that comes with it all. Any views would be great.

Pure ash is sought after by allotment owners, apparently it is good for clay like soils as it helps to break the clay down and make it less claggy?!? [emoji15]?‍♂️ lad at work takes my ash from my burner..... when i eventually get a build up, my stove is that clean burning it hardly leaves any ash at all.

Been mentioned in another thread before, I give mine to local farmers, they use it for bedding horses, cows down etc, in return if they have a tree down at any point i’ll get a phone call to come and get shut of it. Sometimes they’ll keep some wood for themselves or other times they’ll just say no you keep it [emoji6][emoji108] i bag sawdust up for em again on site and tidy up best i can, good impression and all that, and it sorts me out with my firewood for next season, favours bring favours [emoji106]

Top man Erik, good to see people rescuing and helping out the abused [emoji106]had an irish staff myself nearly 8 years ago now, had him put to sleep cos he started having fits, eventually this led to cluster fitting. Poor lad “Murphy” was only 2 1/2 at the time, no life at all. We rescued him from a drugs den in wales, not too far outside wrexham. Here he is just before we lost him.

Aggie (our boxer dog) doesnt really forage or route to be fair, shes quite sedate for a boxer, no not had her eat any mercury, we do plenty of woodland and riverside walking with her too. Not had any mates report of theirs eating any either. No sorry.

Pressure test cold and hot? When you say its pressurising, does it happen before the engines up to temp or once the engines up and past running temp?

I take the logs home and burn them, they are bang on 20% mc, old Clarence next door and nosey Rita see the smoke coming from my chimney (the wanky dobbing neighbours) an hour later and Winston Logheimer is knocking on my door........... The manufacturer, supplier and customer have done everything to the letter and can do no more?... But Wanky neighbours can see smoke cos its dropping in to a cold frosty night and the atmosphere is going to make my chimney “emissions” look worse than they are, as you all know it will, so i’m braking the law!!!? ?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️ Hows Winston Logheimer going to put me in court room?...... hes not!!! he cant prove nothing. So instead of using self sourced or bought wood to heat your home you use electricity or gas which is refined and made using heavy amounts of fossil fuels to heat your home!..... No pitting or fretting is a good sign. Try you pressure test as i described earlier, failing that your in to bodging territory like openspace man said or head off again for facing and pressure check i rekon.

Pressurise the system manually using a tester, cold to start with, if pressure drops over a short period of time then your in to the obvious..... theres a leak, check visually first for any external signs i.e hoses, head gasket area, water pump gland, water temp sensor body, the usual etc..... If no signs then you could be looking at an internal leak, possibly on inlet/exhaust side through a fractured head as husk king suggested earlier. If no pressure drop when cold then it would suggest that you have a internal fault once hot. So run engine up to temperature, watch your exhaust for signs of grey/white smoke whilst doing this which would also suggest water/coolant loss, and repeat pressure check again? But if you are having to get to this point then chances are your looking at fractured head or porous liners. Did you see any pitting on top of block or fretting marks around top of cylinders near where fire ring sits on head gasket? Did you have head faced/skimmed and pressure tested whilst you were changing head gasket?

Have you put pressure tester on circuit to see if it will hold pressure? In both cold and hot states?

Does the loader run a compressor driven off the engine that is cooled on the same coolant circuit?
