  1. Guy I know just ordered this: Not that far from you. [emoji106]
  2. Fascinating stuff. [emoji106]
  3. I've used one of these, good bit of kit.
  4. 3 days before Diana was murdered, there was a snippet in the sun newspaper about how British intelligence were concerned about an Arab marrying into the royal family. Google it. I said to my lass, "Ha they'll kill her first". 3 days later.... [emoji51]
  5. There's no such thing as free wood. It's all hard work.
  6. I sell my hardwood by the m3 to a firewood guy, softwoods same guy but free. Occasionally I'll do a job with too much wood or it's a long way back. In these cases if you collected it would be free.
  7. There was a guy on eBay years back, for £3 he'd send you a CD-ROM with all the stihl IPLs and workshop manuals. Don't know if he did other brands.
  8. It's already like this, but the kids are kids, they go everywhere. I'm considering removing up to half the trees, purely for litigation purposes[emoji20] As the school budget really can't afford to keep up the maintenance. I even suggested fencing off half of the woodland as a nature reserve, but they want to use the whole woodland. That's why I was thinking of ways for the woodland to pay for maintenance. I'm quite prepared to throw in the odd day or two for the craic, but it needs a team of climbers for a week just to make it "safer".
  9. Yep I agree, I am not qualified in this department. Can you recommend an individual or organisation? [emoji106]
  10. Thanks VI, that would be great.[emoji106] The biggest issue I have is making 100+ tall trees safe for kids to play under. The whole woodland is full of deadwood. I actually thought of kids hard hats?
  11. What's the score with hiring in cranes for arb work? Is there a ticket/training? [emoji106]
  12. Where are you Liam? There's at least a couple of guys on here with low impact machines. [emoji106]
  13. Not quite the same kit, but in West Yorkshire I pay £55 an hour for a big 4x4 tractor and 12ton trailer.
  14. Did a day last week with Mike, good bloke. [emoji106] It's only about 2 acres so not worth the drive. There's about 145 trees on site, Most 60'+ All need deadwooding some need felling etc. Looking at possibly "French pollarding" Several oaks on school grounds to reduce cost of future deadwooding. So my big question is: How to make a woodland safe for children, on a school budget. In Yorkshire.[emoji51] I'm thinking grants/funding/cake sales Clubs and orgs hiring it at weekends, Kids camping in the summer etc etc. Any ideas etc ? [emoji106]
  15. Just looked at a woodland this morning, needs loads of work as it's run by a primary school and is used by the kids and they have a forest school for infants. It's mainly mature ish oak and beech with a few other hardwoods. Full of deadwood. Got a few questions..... [emoji106]
