  1. Using the forum is like a pub analogy, if you go to the pub and are only allowed to talk about 1 topic and are banned from talking about others you'll quickly get bored regurgitate the same stuff and find another pub! This thread is relevant to lots of people and interesting to see lots of people's views. You can always post on other threads and ignore this one.
  2. Everyone keeps saying we reap what we sow and it's revenge for Iraq Afghan etc. It's utter bollocks 9/11 happened before 2003 Iraq invasion, the British army was invited into Afghan by karzai. Sweden hasn't been bombing the **** out of muslims so why are they in the thick of terror attacks, France hasn't played a big part in the Middle East nor Belgium or Germany yet here we are all with the same problems ... I'm not sure what the solutions are but 1 thing I am sick of hearing about is we brought it on ourselves, NO WE DIDNT! If people want to come here for a better life and to work and integrate I'm all for it just not at the expense of being blown up.
  3. If the police managed there money better there could be more police. Do they really need BMW X5's for a start?
  4. Again we know we have a problem on our hands but really what are possible solutions?
  5. Not all muslims are terrorists but all terrorists are Muslim .... it's a phrase that's been bandied about a lot in the last few years although it may not be 100% true why do we think this saying has come about?
  6. Harshest punishment, meaning not only. Jail could be an option maybe corporate punishment could be reintroduced for terrorist acts?? Only thinking out loud, I am not saying we should or I am correct as this problem won't have an easy solution.
  7. How about trialling the idea that any terrorist who dies in the act passes any and all charges he should be tried for to his immediate family with the harshest punishment deportation. Knowing actions would carry consequences to his/her family may be a game changer?! Thoughts?
  8. All political parties have called off campaigning today, matelot can you not offer the same for 1 day, your ideologies may ring some truth but your blatantly racist to the point you won't purchase something from people with Muslim names?! Would you have life saving treatment from a Muslim doctor/surgeon/medical specialist? Yes the religion poses issues but I can't turn off faith in all man kind, there are and has to be lots of good people who do good things that are Muslim. All religions have bad apples. We do need to come up with more ways of prevention though, even though GCHQ is the best at what it does and prevents a lot from happening.
  9. Can I just post, anyone directly affected from last nights attack in any way my thoughts are with you. Anything I can do to help give us a pm I'm in greater Manchester area.
  10. They have already won a small battle by killing 22 and seriously injuring many more whilst the person who carried out this atrocity can't be held to account because they are dead!! People need to wake up.
  11. I was on 5-6 in diameter pole last week about 40ft high and felt better with my flip line wrapped 560 as it was silky smooth. It worked a treat.
  12. Wordpress seems more like a blog than a website
  13. I'm the same rate regardless of what day it is I just thought I would add another dimension to the thread.
  14. What about weekend work if required? Shelf stackers are probably time and half do we stay at the same rate?
  15. One of my favourites for core is when flat bench pressing or flying bring your legs together and horizontal with your body then raise them 6inch ish then carry out your set/s
  16. Not a fan of planking it can cause unnecessary damage to cartilage between rib and breast if done poorly and also I think it exerts too much pressure on your spine cartilage and discs. When tiring or with poor form you start to sag and pinch a lot of areas on your spine. Not for me but I agree core training can unlock huge gains especially towards balance and strength.
  17. Yes I was just interested in if you priced yourselves per job role or priced on how you value your time i.e. I'm £xyz per day end of.
  18. Just a quick Q, when subbing do you charge different rates if you are grounding, climbing or cutting etc?
  19. I don't employ my wife she works PT and looks after the little 'un BUT surely it's better to employ OH than have them on benefits? ..............
  20. Which path did you walk Silks?
  21. I think you need to keep the faith not every egg is bad!
  22. That's the kind of thing I was getting at but did think it would be illegal to search in such a way however surely during interview process you could still land on such life criteria ..... Is it immoral to do so in your opinion? It really is a mine field!!
  23. It's always an interesting topic this. Do people feel there are a better age range and sets of circumstances to aim for when employing than others I.e 17-25 26-35 36-45 45- Single Married Homeowner Live with parents Kids No kids etc etc We all employ on what we feel is job suitability rather than overall picture, not sure if what I have suggested is legal to do or not but surely 30 year old married with kids and house will give more than a 23 year old single living with parents (not in every instance granted). There maybe better combinations of the ranges given is there any substance to my thoughts or is it a load of rubbish? We all know good workers what are there circumstances? Lastly I have posted this for healthy debate not to be abused or attacked I don't know the answers or if there is a correct one.
  24. I have enough work and get enough work without the need to sign write a van that's all. The vans use is rather an irrelevant comment.
  25. I point them towards who I am working with. I say with as S/E is pretty self explanatory. What I do and the practices I use work for me and the few I subby for when needed and that's the most important thing.
