  1. Yes also ex army and his lack of defence bothered me too. When questioned on the £10 per hour wages by the owner of a small accountant firms he said he/government would help businesses that couldn't afford to pay the increase in wages, do we need more subsidies/benefits? He wouldn't answer the question on will businesses move abroad and also if min wage is £10 per hour will benefits increase to be in line with low earners? When pressed on how he'll pay for his lovely manifesto he said with corporation tax rises and OTHER taxes but no rise in NI or VAT, what are these other taxes? Labour are the kings of stealth taxing. I'm a floating voter I put my X where I feel best rewards me and my family, it ain't a hard choice this year. Labour need a name change, gone are the days where they favour the working man.
  2. How you getting on there now Ty? Did your relationship with your business partner improve? I have just got back from a week in Sablet well just outside it and the work ethics are soooo laid back it's frightening and they charge some big bucks!
  3. Thoughts on tonight's question time leaders special anyone?
  4. Your wasted grinding stumps!!
  5. Will treemagineers do an article condoning the one handed use of this future saw? 😂
  6. Do you know how much a hip replacement costs?
  7. Bricks and mortar will always increase in value over the long term anything to help inflation rise to keep the debt repayments low ..... If you think you as a home owner can value your own asset to be taxed on your wrong, a third party will value it and to get more tax it will only go up in value I'm afraid maybe just maybe house prices will go up quicker than now to raise more tax. If your on the ladder already your lucky in the sense prices are relative if your house goes up in value so does the one you want to buy next so it sort of cancels itself out.
  8. One of the scenarios labour are looking at for situations where LVT is less than council tax is to tax said properties on that years house value. Labour are using LVT to pay for their outlandish policies to think we will be better off for the change is being naive. It was labour who raised fuel duty to record highs to again hit the masses of normal people.
  9. You really are a moron the working man already contributes to public services now unless mark is a secret millionaire why should he donate again? He may have a family to look after like most of us and other financial commitments.
  10. The land value tax will pay for a lot of labours policies but it will cream us normal folk, the rich will sell and move on along with their businesses to avoid LVT on their homes and businesses and they'll move abroad to avoid 50% tax which will affect jobs as the work will go with their businesses. Unemployment will go up. People on benefits will have their benefits increased to cover LVT and low to middle earners on no benefits will get creamed to cover increase in benefits and loss of revenue from businesses moving. LVT will not affect online businesses but our high streets, restaurants etc will also get hammered. Any of you guys wanting to buy/rent yards etc I would possibly wait to see how it all unfolds. I just can't see how labour are looking after the working man anymore?
  11. I'd say the negligence would be with the homeowner as surely after topping the tree it should be re-done or looked at periodically similar to pollarding.
  12. I'm amazed nobody has picked up on the fact their council tax and business rates could potentially double or treble under the proposed land value tax which could replace council tax/business rates. I would have thought it would have been jumped on on here given it will affect us all as soon as it's introduced ...............
  13. Anyone heard about the proposed council tax changes in one of the manifestos? Is it a good or bad change?
  14. Anyone heard about the proposed council tax changes in one of the manifestos? Is it a good or bad change?
  15. Using the forum is like a pub analogy, if you go to the pub and are only allowed to talk about 1 topic and are banned from talking about others you'll quickly get bored regurgitate the same stuff and find another pub! This thread is relevant to lots of people and interesting to see lots of people's views. You can always post on other threads and ignore this one.
  16. Everyone keeps saying we reap what we sow and it's revenge for Iraq Afghan etc. It's utter bollocks 9/11 happened before 2003 Iraq invasion, the British army was invited into Afghan by karzai. Sweden hasn't been bombing the **** out of muslims so why are they in the thick of terror attacks, France hasn't played a big part in the Middle East nor Belgium or Germany yet here we are all with the same problems ... I'm not sure what the solutions are but 1 thing I am sick of hearing about is we brought it on ourselves, NO WE DIDNT! If people want to come here for a better life and to work and integrate I'm all for it just not at the expense of being blown up.
  17. If the police managed there money better there could be more police. Do they really need BMW X5's for a start?
  18. Again we know we have a problem on our hands but really what are possible solutions?
  19. Not all muslims are terrorists but all terrorists are Muslim .... it's a phrase that's been bandied about a lot in the last few years although it may not be 100% true why do we think this saying has come about?
  20. Harshest punishment, meaning not only. Jail could be an option maybe corporate punishment could be reintroduced for terrorist acts?? Only thinking out loud, I am not saying we should or I am correct as this problem won't have an easy solution.
  21. How about trialling the idea that any terrorist who dies in the act passes any and all charges he should be tried for to his immediate family with the harshest punishment deportation. Knowing actions would carry consequences to his/her family may be a game changer?! Thoughts?
  22. All political parties have called off campaigning today, matelot can you not offer the same for 1 day, your ideologies may ring some truth but your blatantly racist to the point you won't purchase something from people with Muslim names?! Would you have life saving treatment from a Muslim doctor/surgeon/medical specialist? Yes the religion poses issues but I can't turn off faith in all man kind, there are and has to be lots of good people who do good things that are Muslim. All religions have bad apples. We do need to come up with more ways of prevention though, even though GCHQ is the best at what it does and prevents a lot from happening.
  23. Can I just post, anyone directly affected from last nights attack in any way my thoughts are with you. Anything I can do to help give us a pm I'm in greater Manchester area.
  24. They have already won a small battle by killing 22 and seriously injuring many more whilst the person who carried out this atrocity can't be held to account because they are dead!! People need to wake up.
  25. I was on 5-6 in diameter pole last week about 40ft high and felt better with my flip line wrapped 560 as it was silky smooth. It worked a treat.
