  1. Well done for cherry picking 0.1% of the frontline staff. 🥱
  2. Good luck disposing 5-10 tons a week though.
  3. Twice in a row! You should show Peds how it’s done, he struggles as well. Speaking of Peds he suggested I use Google to answer a question I had and readily found the answer I was looking for. Perhaps you could play devils advocate and look yourself? I found plenty of links almost instantly.
  4. I thought it had poor rot resistance?
  5. Our views converge, on the bottom line at least. The first paragraph seems more like opinion masquerading as fact. Do you have the figures to hand for benefit fraud by British bums versus immigrants? You’ve found the quote button at last. Congratulations.
  6. The significant difference is those that come over from poor countries can retire “back home” on a pension that dwarfs wages in these countries. They can send child benefits back to children still residing (real or not) in these poorer countries that again dwarf the average wage in these countries. In many instances working in the UK funds house purchases in their respective home countries that they could only dream of if they worked in their own countries. The incentives to come and work in the UK for these people are huge, the incentives for the British population simply is not there. The bottom line is wages on the NHS for those at the Coalface needs to increase significantly to draw British people towards a career in this field.
  7. They well be just existing. But they also get to take advantage of our insane benefits system, Child Benefits and Pensions to name just two. Whatever the reason they sure like to come to the UK and work and I’ll guess it’s not the weather bringing them.
  8. The biggest factor is paying Nurses slave wages that you simply cannot live on in the UK, you can exist but not really live. This is fine for imported Eastern European and African Nurses that getting this wage is a dream come true for them, but it is sub-par for British people. Why go through 4 years of skilled training to then work in a high stress work environment to make slightly more than someone sitting on their arse scanning food at Tesco? The NHS needs torn down and built from the ground up. I am very glad I have private medical insurance for myself and my family these days. A Doctor is a "face-to-face" meeting away via an app. MRI Scans etc within a few days of approval.
  9. I’ve poplar like that in the firewood pile. If folk wanna buy it then great.
  10. And replace him with who? Complaining without a solution is just whining. Plenty of Nurses at my local hospital. My daughters just finished her first year at Medical School, 3 more years and she’ll be a junior Doctor. With over 160 students in her year 2/3rds are British. You do make me laugh 😂
  11. Well I had a look. Very interesting I must say and I’ll give it a go this season. What caught my attention was the use of grass clippings to hold the straw down. We have a fair bit of lawn so a significant amount of clippings to dispose of. Ideal solution. I like how the expert in the article plants his “no dig” potatoes after he’s dug out his Parsnips so the soils already loosened/broken up. I’ll still get to break out the Howard after all. [emoji16] Growing Potatoes the No-Dig Way WWW.GROWVEG.CO.UK Growing potatoes can be hard work but it doesn't have to be that way. Using the no-dig (lasagne) method and following some simple steps can yield a wonderful harvest and remove the need to weed them.
  12. I meant local people as opposed to farmers who are growing their own produce will increase and have a surplus they may wish to sell or trade. For example, I have an abundance of eggs I simply don’t need every day. We give them away, but if there was someone with too much tomatoes I’d happily trade them. I’m genuinely interested in how folk plan on planting and harvesting tatties with this no dig “nature knows best” ideal. I’m not talking about growing above ground in bags or tubs, that’s not natures way.
  13. I’m sure we’ll see far more use of alternative farming going forward, and that’s a good thing. I wonder if we’ll see more stalls/markets pop up with folk selling their goods? We’ve a weekly farmers market in town, the problem is these same products are in Tesco for less. Would be nice to see more heritage produce or less common fruit and veg.
  14. I have no idea if the fact fertiliser has trebled in price this last year but I’ve never seen so much field prep/ploughing in the Spring. I don’t know the terminology of what’s going on in the fields around me but the farmers where in and out of the fields with far more machinery than they usually are. Ploughing far deeper this year too. Bits of drains that used to take run off from my farmhouse across the field down to the stream have been ripped up this year. First time I’ve seen that in the 7 years I’ve been here. Might be a good time to dig out my metal detector [emoji16]
  15. It’s not what I’m seeing round my way that’s for sure. But interesting nonetheless.
  16. Right…… Tossing someone’s salad is a sexual practice that I could not even describe here without getting a ban, as you’re well aware. The fact you embellished your fantasy with mental images of me tossing someone’s salad in a toilet cements the fact you’re fully aware of the overt homosexual connotations you wished to convey. If you’re gonna post homophobic nonsense like that up at least be a man and take ownership of it instead of pathetically attempting to weasel your way out if it when called out on it.
  17. I think you're confused about what you perceive the confusions seems to be.
  18. Which is all fine and dandy unless you've repeatedly has a 700 series Avant and 1.5t logs compacting the soil over a three year period.
  19. I’ll break the soil up regardless of your views on this. There is currently no weeds, I fully expect weeds to grow now that I’m no longer milling there. [emoji849] I know how to mitigate this thank you very much. I really don’t care for your fascination with how I plan on planting Strawberries but by all means continue with expressing your weird sexual fantasies you’ve conjured up involving myself. It’s certainly a window into your warped mindset.
  20. 99.99% of folk buying a toy saw like this will not know the difference. And how do you show it’s hot in a video? Start the video by showing the temp on an infrared thermometer then fire it up? 🤣 Maybe burn your fingers on the muffler and show them the blisters? 🤣🤣🤣 No one buying a £50 saw is gonna care.
  21. Why not both? Start it cold. Let it warm then try again when hot. More importantly pop the muffler off and have a look at the pot and piston.
  22. It was a part of woodland floor that I’ve since removed the trees from. It’s quite compact since it was then used as my Log Deck Loading area that’s seen some Avant action. No weeds at all. So I’ll dig it over.
