  1. The law has changed now so if I’m right then practically anyone can tow 3t again.
  2. Id have thought it was obvious? Im the only gay in the village.
  3. Do you include yourself in that comment? Or are just that much better than everyone else?
  4. Was waiting with baited breath for someone to pipe up.
  5. I completely agree. But damn it does make great firewood compared to Sitka.
  6. Carry a Sitka log from one end of the garden and it’s lost half its weight. 🤣
  7. I agree. Its a piss take to be a supposedly public servant sleeping on the job when they should be running the country. In full view of cameras too. Should be a sackable offence, that would wake them up.
  8. I certainly do. Half my time off-shore seems to be having a Cowboy stretch in the Rec Room. 🤣
  9. Explained: Why Is Electricity So Expensive In Norway Right Now? WWW.LIFEINNORWAY.NET If you live in Norway, you can’t fail to have noticed high electricity prices just lately. Here’s what’s causing the skyrocketing... This article is from September and shows a ten fold increase in electricity costs per unit. As I said, many I know have been paying over £500 a month for Electricity. Some significantly higher than that.
  10. The one for Norway is a load of BS for a start. I know loads who have been paying what’s stated for the year each month.
  11. Im certainly not against mixed tyres. I just think we should not bring in a law enforcing Winter Tyres in the U.K. for the week or so we get snow here. I’ve previously stated I really liked my Winter Tyres in Norway, for the odd day I needed them. Norway is far more set up for their use. Buying a car from new most folk order two set of wheels and many store their out of season wheels either in paid storage or at home. By the time the cars come onto the used market the cost for the average buyer is negligible. I think people should be made aware of the benefits of these tyres and nothing more. If we lived in a harsh climate then I’d agree with you, but we don’t.
  12. At the day rates banded about on here I’m surprised this is not in vogue just now.
  13. I’ve actually got chains for my new toy. I’ve never used them either so I’ll see how I get on if we ever get a full day of snow. 🙄
  14. Been as low as -12 here the last week. Anecdotal I know but I’ve seen one accident and that was a van on its side.
  15. As I mentioned, I really liked having genuine Winter Tyres in Norway. Studs even more so. It converted my Beemer 3 Series from something that could not climb a simple hill to an ice drifting machine. It seems you’re more concerned about getting up a slope than down it. Yet the accidents seem to happen when gravity plays its part. On a sheet of ice or polished/compacted snow and a driver who see’s these conditions a couple of days a year if they’re not on holiday will still slide down the hill and bash the car/cars in front regardless of it’s summer, mixed or Winter tyres. Lifting the ban on studs would see an end to it of course. 4x4 obviously makes a huge difference. I was pulling vans up hills in my 265/50/20 summer tyres all day for the only dump of snow we had last Winter. In Scotland. Gotta love a Jeep. 😁
  16. I see loads of accidents in Stavanger year in year out in the winter. That’s with enforced Winter Tyres. There’s idiot drivers all over the world. I don’t think all season tyres would make a blind bit of difference to folk sliding down hills, dedicated Winter Tyres maybe, Studs yes.
  17. Winter tyres are great for when you actually need them. I loved my Studded Tyres in Norway but for the 5 years I was there I needed them for less than 10 days a season and that was because I was going out to a Cabin. Sometimes only one day. Was a fair hassle to change wheels over for a few days a season. Of course many locations in Norway need them for the whole Winter Season. There’s not been a year since I’ve been back in Scotland where I’ve needed Winter Tyres for more than a few days. Last year it was a single day. You really can’t enforce separate tyres on people living on an island that rarely sees snow anymore. Most folk can hardly keep a car on the road as it is without the added expense of adding another set of wheels and tyres into the equation. The U.K. is not Scandinavia.
  18. Yeh, certainly met a few snivelling cowards on and off-line.
  19. Woopsie MEP denies Qatar bribery after €1.5m seized - BBC News WWW.BBC.CO.UK Eva Kaili, one of four suspects, is stripped of her role as vice-president of the European Parliament.
  20. Got hit over the back of the neck in Brazil a few weeks ago. Nearly collapsed but when I kept upright they ran off. 🤷‍♂️ Was a busy beach so I assume they wanted an easy target,
  21. It’s a good idea if you don’t mind your paths ending up a grey sludgy mess that gets dragged into at least the Boot Room.
