  1. It never works. Hippies have tried it again and again with their communes and it fails every single time.
  2. A threat? FFS Man, it was a light hearted joke. No, you're to stupid to know when you're beaten, so you post more and more nonsensical links to ludicrous websites with outrageous and provable claims. Its fun though, so keep it up.
  3. When he first joined he posted up few good posts on pruning which was very informative and helpfull. Then he went full on mental and cant help himself now. Makes for great reading though.
  4. There is no way he'll realise a hint so subtle was directed at him.
  5. Oh you've outted me! I thought I could hide that secret forever! I thought no one would notice my Avatar of an Oil Platform Complex! But so what? Everyone one needs oil, even you ya dithering old fossil!
  6. Not quite. Burning a log will generally carry a larger carbon footprint as there will be crude oil based fuel consumed in chopping it down, snedding it, clogging it, transporting it and potentially kiln drying it. Even if (as you claim) the only Crude Oil you use is in your Diesel Van, ie, you chop all your trees down by hand, saw them into clogs by hand, split them all by hand and then transport them by hand and season them outside you will still release the carbon at a significantly higher speed than natural decay. You're also depriving the habitat of the decaying process as many insects and birds need that process to live.
  7. No he has not. Do you honestly think his whole lifes mindset has been converted because of a few posts on here? He's just agreed that lower taxes equals more revenue received.
  8. And how do you expect the Government to defend us if we dont pay taxes? Oh thats right, we'll just voluntarily pay for it.
  9. I completely agree, I resent the amount of tax I pay and every time the SNP put it up they claim other high earners 'need to pay their share' is disgusting and very frustrating. But the SNP's voter base is generally dole bums who want more for nothing. But taxes are needed, as many other sane people have said here. They have also offered various viable solutions on how to make the system more fair. But we will keep voting for the same twats. Torries, Labour or the SNP (who are thankfully losing ground here in Scotland) But the laughable idea that we should not pay any tax and only pay for what we use and if we cant afford it then tough shit view point is thankfully only supported by one or two deluded fools. As long as we keep voting for the same not only will it stay the same but it will get progressively worse. In that sense we only have ourselves to blame.
  10. If I was down on my luck and had no job and no money what option would I have? Oh, I could go around stealing from others. Yes, I see your point of view now. ........
  11. Cheers. I'll get him to send a pic. Its only 12 years old so although fast growing I doubt it will be 20", 12" maybe?
  12. Still utter hippy nonsense. Just a more long winded version this time. We've already covered why these pie in the sky ideas are idiotic. Not only idiotic but utterly selfish too.
  13. Ok cheers. I'll tell him to give it a miss then.
  14. I have a mate who wants to cut a Eucalyptus in his garden down and have it Milled up. Its only 12 years old but already a fair diameter. Anyone milled it? Is it even worth the hassle?
  15. Good point, I'll remove the 'book on-line' section. I'll add my number to the intro, cheers.
  16. Fair point! I'll see about making the number more prominent and consider adding my home number. Yeh, Im in Angus, just outside Forfar. Maybe I should add where Id cover? Would really depend on the job though. Where about are you in Fife? I was born in Dunfirmline and have family in Inverkeithing, Rosyth and Auchtermuchty
  17. Awesome! Thats just what I needed to hear. A real world example of exactly what I'll be doing. In Scotland too, so that a boost.
  18. Odd question and Im unsure what sub-forum to drop it in so here it it. I have a Beech Hedge out the back and its blocking my view of the Hills behind my house. But I have a neighbor that Id like to block off and as Im gonna rip out the Hedge I wondered if its feasible to dig the Beeches out and re-plant them? Is this something thats done? Cheers.
  19. Cant remember? What it was? 5-6 meters anyway. But Ive since chopped it down and since then it become wobble so I bought the First Cut System. Ive 4.5m just now and if I need more its not hugely more expensive. Wish I took more pics now.
  20. But he wasn't, he just went in a huff.
  21. Ill hazard a guess its a 36" GB Bar with a 3/8" .050 Lo pro ripping chain.
  22. Maybe if you cut them a foot behind the bend.
  23. I guess the boards are basically junk? Looks like they'll shard like crazy? Out of interest how do you mill around corners? Two ladders squared up?
  24. Ha ha ha, bloody knew it! I'll keep my Cynic Badge a while longer I think.
