  1. Welcome to the shit show! looking good! Keep the pics coming!
  2. Was only messing, as you where asking for a use for your Dougie. Your build sounds good. Looking forward to seeing the build. Whats the reason for needing Western Red Cedar in particular? I know Cedar smells amazing, was grinding a few stumps out a while ago and was like perfume.
  3. I know of some DF, bit over sized though.
  4. What a bunch of old farts we are.
  5. Found a bunch of musket balls down on a site in Scotland where the English Camped on the way up to the battle of Culloden. A few live rounds from WW2 in the same area as it was a target practice area. Bunch of coins too but nothing older than 150 years ago.
  6. Oh damn! Any interesting finds?
  7. I have the Logosol B751. Initially I was unimpressed due to the wavy cut I was getting, but when I moved away from the Bahco Blades Logosol recommend and sell and bought the Ripper 37's that issue was resolved. I had an issue with paint peeling as well, on the Blade Cover. Told Logosol and they replaced the whole cover and all its components. Same with the Roller Guide that broke after 1 year, replaced that f.o.c too. There is a lot of fine adjustments on the Logosol and when dialed in correctly you can make perfect veneer cuts with it. I have the first generation, bout just over a year ago now. Rev 2 has a better Bed that can take a trailer package and a few extras like hydraulics etc. You also get a 30" Log on the B751. Very quick and easy to build and set up. The Saws Head is already built for you, you just need to level it all up and do the fine adjusting.
  8. Yes, I get it now, cheers. Will try it out next time I have some softwood in. Too much work with Oak.
  9. i get it now, cheers. Will give this a try.
  10. Ive got a Whites as well. Not really used it much, mostly around the garden and once on the beach. Found anything interesting?
  11. what size do you cut to?
  12. Sorry for sounding thick but how do you mill on a bandsaw without moving the blade up or down?
  13. Some nice boards in it. Quite happy.
  14. Looking good. That’s the top off anyway. Now the fun begins. ?
  15. Just up the road from you as well, so thats handy if you wanna take a look.
  16. Since I now have a Bandsaw I really dont need a 36" Alaskan Mill set-up, so selling it to buy car parts for my money pit,and keep the wifer off my back. I'll be keeping my 48" Mill and my 088 for bigger stuff and will actually be Milling with it tomorrow. So, a Stihl 064 Saw, Genuine Granberg Alaskan Mill (Mark 3) A 36" GB Low Profile Bar. 3 x 3/8" Low Pro Chains. 2 x 50% worn and 1 x 10% worn. I'll have the Saw Serviced before the sale. The GB bar has been used for less than 2 hours. £550 delivered.
  17. Is that what my pile ended up as? Its remarkably close to your figures.
  18. Has to me more than that. I had a pile close to 20m x 1.5m x 3m and all that was left was less than 1m3. Was stacked lose, beech hedge and cherry. Could not believe how little I ended up with.
  19. Id go with the 15sq/m to 1 sq/m chipped. I had masses of branches I needed chipped and ended up with two small plies. So Id not expect much.
  20. Pop into the local park and cut one off.
