  1. Depending how long Im stuck in Norway but I plan on using my time here to read and study my Timber Framing books and buy the odd tool on ebay. Once Im home I'll mill up my logs and make a start on a Timber Frame shed to get a feel for it. I also like growing things, Ive got courgettes, tomatoes and cucumbers growing from seed and a whole bunch of things coming on-line as super plugs. I'll need to get a second Polly Tunnel bought and built though. My wee lass loves wandering through the Tunnel and picking cherry tomatoes and eating them right off the vine.
  2. Nah, Im cool with it. Especially if they block me. I think it was two of those trophies I won today? I'll add them to my collection with pride.
  3. Im with ya! Its just funny how some start throthing at the mouth if I said I was off to work as I need money. Its either a lock-down or its not. Anyway, crack on. The guys that had the biggest hard-on have blocked me now anyway so they cant see Im talking about them.
  4. Totally. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/597625027666150/
  5. I dont get the linch mobs on here. I comment Id do the same thing and people people are literally losing their minds, you guys pipe up and state the above and its all cool beans. Funny old world. But crack on guys, get that bread!
  6. Same up our way, £6 for 25kg of Maris Piper, delivered to your door.
  7. Off to UK sector tomorrow 545 check in and 10 or so forms filled in so far 05:45! Lucky you! What rig?
  8. I think the first 14 days are gratis. Hopefully they'll pay me good if I end up staying over for weeks on end. 50% tax is a kicker.
  9. Where are you isolating in UK or norway Norway. Over for work, so need to do 14 in the tank then can get to it.
  10. Thats a mental price for the whacker plate! Wish I had some spare cash as Id order one right now. I wonder if Scotspine would be after one of those deals? Ooops, oh well.
  11. Its a tough one for sure. A lot to be said for being a PAYE now. A lot on that list would be getting told where they can stick it to be fair. Need to keep money back for food for your family.
  12. Surely its worth giving the lenders a call and asking for repayment holiday? It would be in the lenders best interest after all, as the other option would be to go bust and they get nothing.
  13. The thing is most folk go self employed for the financial benefits that come with working for yourself. Very little, if any actual tax is paid, a lot of the time, not all of the time obviously. When you can claim back for your vehicle, washing your clothes, the washing machine, tools etc etc. So much can be written off as Im sure you're aware. I can see the government thinking, well, they've not paid a huge amount in tax so they can fend for themselves. Not saying thats right but I can see that line of reasoning, if in fact that's happening at all.
  14. I'll get that too then! Dunno if Amazon deliver to hotel rooms though.
  15. Why yes. I can live with three of what I consider the most unstable elements of this forum putting me on ignore. I also find such actions extremely childish which then comes right back around to why Im delighted they are doing so.
  16. I have no issues with the Lad, I can see he's got himself all wound up and upset at the current situation, but his scaremongering does need fact checked. Thankfully a real doctor stepped in and put him straight and he started to behave himself again, well almost. Some people struggle to deal with this kind of change, sometimes they need protecting from themselves. Im sure he'll pull through.
  17. I try my best. ? Still waiting on any proof to back up your wild assumptions though. ?
  18. Lovely to see some nice big clean Slabs being posted! Cracking stuff!
  19. If I had a quid for every time someone starts their reply to me with this Id not eb sitting in this hotel room right now-. Its ok though, they become less frequent as they come around to my way of thinking.
  20. Perfect! When we arrived at the Hotel Friday night a Norwegian Doctor called my colleague who happened to be on the same flight as him, I was to get a call after. The Doc explained the situation here in Norway, how its important to keep a 2m distance, dont cough or sneeze on anyone. Washing of hands etc etc, all the good stuff. Then told my colleague to pass his phone over to me to go over the same things with me.
  21. Putting up with the nonsense and baseless scaremongering, not to mention the outright rude nature of your comments I can live with being called a stroppy teenager in response to such posts from yourself.
  22. My family, ie my brothers and sisters think the same. We shall see. Im still waiting on you providing proof to the contrary. For sure. Ive not had to be away from my family for that length of time for many years now. The longest trips I do these days are three weeks. But then I have 5 weeks at home with them. Swings and round-abouts, but it can be hard. Easier these days with skype, messenger video etc. Ive been home since mid December due to back surgery, initially waiting to get the surgery then the recovery process then this bloody virus and the uncertainty of getting the over-sea's guys over. As mentioned we now have our own hotel for us to be quarantined in for 14 days then I'll do 15 days off-shore, then more than likely I'll wait out my 'reset' time and go out on another job. As if I went home again Id have to wait another 14 days in quarantine. Potentially I could be stuck over here if the boarders are closed. I also have to consider my job as this virus has caused my employer to issue furlough letters, I doubt Id get put on furlough but you never know. I can see me doing 8 weeks here, we'll see. Obviously the health of my family trumps all the above. So Ive looked at the evidence and there is no indication what-so-ever this virus will affect children to any percentile under the ages of 9. All the evidence suggests they will get a cough and feel unwell for a bit. My wife and I are healthy as are our parents. I just dont see it being an issue for us. I Simpy don't buy intro the media driven hysteria. Yes, we have to protect the golden oldies, I get that. But where any of them to get it, or suspect they have it my company will use any and all flights to get me home, that is of course if they are still operating. So I'll got to work and see how it pans out. And hopefully make a killing in the process (no pun intended)
