  1. Interesting, you lead an exemplary life it seem's. Id hate to think about how much Chinese tat I must have in the house. TV, Printer, tools, phones, charging cables, clothing, toys for the kids, components in the car, anything that requires a micro processor, kitchen white goods, kitchen gadgets. The list is huge. And to only have an iphone with anything made in China is seriously impressive.
  2. That was about 20 years ago if I remember correctly? Maybe less. But the critical point being was we made changes to avoid that happening again did we not? Thats all we're really asking China to do, but we kinda know thats not really gonna happen.
  3. Interesting. Not to pry but it must be very difficult paying bills etc all from a phone?
  4. And the damage? I know what a tree looks like.
  5. Yeh, read that. We're all gonna die of something. Was also kinda a joke, but now Ive got a mental image of an OAP going to town, so thanks for that.
  6. Better watch out or Scotspine will be gunning for ya. He's a Weegie. In Glasgow you have to have a prefix, for example Big Rona, or Wee Rona. Kinda like an episode of Benefit Britain, where we to use a lovely Sink Estate in England it would be Black Rona or White Rona.
  7. Whilst I do not condone battery, or ban chickens at all its a minuscule problem compared to what happens in China. I have not bought eggs in 5 years, prior to that I only bought free-range, or local, and yes, I know free range is not amazing either, hence why I have had my own for 5 years. Read any book from pre-20th Century? There is a massive clue in the word use used there. Im not sure why Id wanna eat Badger when I have perfectly good Beaver at home?
  8. Someone just sent me a clip of a Chinese man (might not be Chinese, I never seen his passport) Remove a nest from a tree and started leisurely snacking on the baby chicks inside it. Just popped one in his mouth one after the other and happily chewed away on them. Its such a stark contrast to anything we'd consider normal or acceptable here in the West. Interesting point regarding pathogens. I sometimes think we deserve a real pandemic.
  9. Aye, fair enough, Worlds gone to hell in a handbasket . There is zero the average man can do about that, and if the shit hits that fan, well, we'd barely register it before we have a factor 5 million sun tan. But if the world stopped pretending China is not responsible for C-19 and most likely the next pandemic for the sake of political correctness we'll keep having them, and maybe the next one wont be so far away, and maybe it will be a lot worse. Maybe we wont have recovered sufficiently from this one by the time the next hits. That alone could expedite a nuclear war if one of the countries you mentioned uses it as leverage to make their next move. Some may say this is another Tinfoil Hat comment, but thankfully they have me on ignore.
  10. Groan! Yeh missing the wee chicks already, and its only been a few days. But its gonna be a good few weeks before I can get back on the nest. Sure will be some clucking going on then.
  11. We do buy a Picknic mix, they love that. Throw them a handful a day out the back door. Keeps them friendly and within grabbing range if I put them back in the coop.
  12. And it could be argued that 75% of them would have died this year anyway. So yes, worse things have happened. Of course, but what in your mind is pushing us to that precipices?
  13. When I had my Hens in the Coop they just ate all the kitchen Scraps. Root Veg Peeling where cooked in the water the peeled veg was. They had pellets but they lasted a month or so as they preferred the fresh food. So the upkeep was virtually nil. Add a little Cider Vinegar to their water to prevent worms, have Oyster shells handy, or ground Egg shells. And never feed them avocado! Kills them stone dead. In the last storm they got free and now roost in a beech hedge and rarely come back for scraps so must be getting plenty scratching around, but they still lay in the coop. Bonus!
  14. People where welded into their homes during WW2?
  15. They dont even wait til its dead. Same with the fur trade, rip the skin off the animals and throw them writhing on a pile to die a slow agonizing death. Its one one of the worst things Ive ever seen.
  16. I think only Trump had the Balls for that and was shot down in flames by the usual bleeding hearts.
  17. All we could possibly do is hit them where it hurts and thats their manufacturing. So by not buying anything made in China they would take notice and take it real quick. Of course that is a fantasy, it would never happen, we dont care about others enough to do that. We all happily buy everything from Primark £3 jumpers to Iphones from there and will continue to do so. Even without C-19 we dont care about real slavery over in China or Asia. So China will continue to laugh in our faces.
  18. If we all felt strongly enough about the lives that are dying then we the people, the population of the world would by not buying their products. Nothing would change their tune faster than that and they could not point fingers at any governments either. But we all know we're far to selfish for that to ever happen.
  19. I said this earlier today. Got shot down in flames for it though.
  20. China welded people into their apartments and when asked what they where to do if there was a fire they where told to be careful not to have a fire. More and more is emerging as to how china enforced inhumane and draconian measures to contain the virus. Should we have done the same? Maybe. But then the genie is out the bottle and the Government can more easily enforce such measures again. Is that something we want?
