  1. Yes, the governments advice does seem to be somewhat lackadaisical. Its a balancing act of not coming across as draconian and on the other hand expecting the population to act like responsible adults. When that clearly failed to work they had to start treating us like children. Which countries policies would you have the government emulate?
  2. Put him on ignore if it affects your sensibilities?
  3. Nothing to do with a Foil hat. If you wish to ignore the facts of where SARS, Bird Flu and now Covid-19 originated from thats thats up to you. So you're not a virologist, therefore unable to speak with any authority on this virus. Based on that line of reasoning what education are you underpinning your viewpoint on funding for such outbreaks? Again, how much would you like your taxes increased so that we're better prepared from viruses we have no idea will come or how they will affect the human body?
  4. My missus had the same thing a few weeks ago and its still lingering on. I walked into the living room to find the Stove at almost melting point and she was wrapped up in a blanket. Now she's saying her lungs have been burning up for days and she's wheezing and short of breath. Both wee ones have been right outta sort the last couple of weeks too,. I pickle myself with whisky so nothing ever takes a hold on me. Plus one glass of water I drink at home I squeeze 1/2 to one lemon and a whole lime into. Supposedly there is emerging evidence Vic C can fight The Rona. Whisky sours it is.
  5. Yip Tory voters claim the BBC is left wing, Labour and Pinko Commies claim its a right wing mouth piece. The reality is the BBC is cancer and should be made to stand on its own two feet.
  6. Surely the biggest problem is China's complete lack of respect for life? There's a reason all these viruses keep originating from there. How much would you like your own personal tax increased to to have medication, supplies, extra docs and nurses on stand-by to cope with the next shit-storm to come outta there?
  7. Interesting. My daughter is in 5th year and doing 5 highers. Not sure what the equivalent is in NI and England? They study hard, have some mock exams to track their progress and official prelims just before Christmas that don’t count toward anything unless they need to be referenced if the kid does badly in the official exam, or can’t attend the official exam. There is no continual assessment for her. Thankfully she got straight A’s in her prelims so she should get an official straight A pass as the tests are cancelled this year due to The Rona. My wife is doing her degree in Maths and Quantum Physics. They do have continual assessment though. Different projects that go toward their final score. I think the final year exam is worth about 45%, so you still have to study and cram hard leading up to that. I’ve no idea what they plan on doing for her grade.
  8. Equality of opportunity has been trumped by equality of outcome. Its gonna end very badly before the people making these calls change their tune.
  9. The wife nipped out today to pick up tatties. 50kg for £10. Should keep them going a while if it comes to that. Barn was still well stocked but selling like hot cakes supposedly. We'll know things are getting bad when the chickens start to disapear.
  10. There is that. Plenty of Boomers with stacks of cash. Even 50% of its value would give me £10k. We'll see.
  11. I still have my Bandsaw Mill and a few folk wanting stuff milled so could make a wee bit of cash if I had to. Im really hoping that this lock-down period works, people respect it and we can all get back to it again asap. I guess I'll get more info the morn to see if Im getting furloughed. If the Platforms here start running a skeleton crew Im buggered till thats lifted. Still have my Charger though, could flog that if needed, but we'll see how things pan out. Brash dragging sounds fun . Id not turn my nose up at any work if it came to it. So appreciate the offer. Yeh, stunning woman here. Could not marry one though, pain in the bloody arse.
  12. About sums it up. Or maybe I'll not get furloughed and can work. We'll see how it pans out.
  13. As of today Ive been told Im most likely getting furloughed. Which means Im not getting laid off, but till things blow over I'd no longer be getting paid. I dont think I qualify for the Norwegian Dole as I think you have to live in Country. I wont qualify for anything in the UK either. I can go home or remain in isolation here. So not sure what I'll do. Either way, I think right now its best to respect the lock-down, here in a hotølel room or at my home as I want this shit-show to be over with and it seems like the only way to do that is to follow the strict self-isolation guidelines.
  14. Sure there is. Don't go to work.
  15. Damn it. Was hoping no one was gonna pipe up with that.
  16. Things are changing rapidly. Like super rapid. Im getting to the point I wished I stayed the fuck home. Now Im fucking trapped here. As mentioned my Bro is a Project Manager at a Hospital in London on the construction side of things. Its gone super mental. He's a tough cookie, hes really worried. Nothing rattles him. Im sorry if I look like a hypocrite. Not much I can do about that. I guess I'll end up looking like a tool for falling for the hype. I guess Im just getting worried about my family and I cant do a thing about it right now. Ill try and get back to my old self asap. Not had someone block me today and I'm a little dispaointed in my lack of effort.

  18. Do you have your string handy?
  19. You simply cant replay a soundbite to get the full extent of the law thats being implemented. Go to work, not my concern nor care, but to listen to a speech and claim thats the letter of the law is somewhat simplistic, surely you can see that?
  20. Any qualms about calling the Spanish Flu for what it is?
  21. So Trump is right to call it the China Virus?
  22. Am I wrong in thinking that PAYE employees are only getting 80% in they are made redundant? Out of curiosity, since you raise the point, what have you actually paid in tax in the last three years? Personally I mean.
  23. I wonder if my meger amounts of Gold and Silver will increase much soon? Small gains on both Gold and Silver after the traders cashed in to cover other losses. Maybe we're seeing a dead cat bounce? Wish I had more money to play. So unfair!
