  1. Wow, very cool. Always fancied one of them as well. Regarding towing Im seriously thinking of getting a late 50's to early 70's US Pick-Up for Towing my Mill and maybe a Log Processor if I ever get one. Not fussed which, maybe a Chevy as they are everywhere but Im always bought Mopars and I know them better, we'll see. Need a exit strategy as this Oil Games looking a bit screwed just now.
  2. Yeh, small world indeed. I know the feeling. sipping away being right as rain and then BANG, sparked out of the floor. My Norgie mate makes the 95% stuff from a sugar wash. Makes a batch in an IBC. Its cracking stuff. Smells like vanilla and a drop on your tongue evaporates almost instantly. He's a clever lad, only young but loves his toys. He's reactivated a M16, a AK and his AR-15. Nutter.
  3. You guys are missing a trick with not driving older cars. Anything pre-1979 is MOT and Tax exempt. Im £150 a year for my Charger in fully comp insurance with the right to the vehicle should it be a write off.
  4. https://www.drinksandco.co.uk/vodka/vodka-koskenkorva-60-1l A pal in Norway cracks out 95% stuff. Its something else. I could theoretically produce at around 75%. He has a much better Still than me, but my Reflux Still is coming along nicely and that will get me into the high 80%, maybe even 90% depending on what material I use in the column. Strictly for distilling pure water for my batteries of course.
  5. I actually had a 1970 Dodge Challenger for a while. Toyed with the idea of making a Vanishing Point Clone like this one.
  6. Yeh, I can see that the shit could hit the fan quite easily. I think we could produce a large portion of what we need here in the UK if people started to produce their own food. We're taking this a bot more seriously this year. We're gonna greatly increase the veg plot, too late for this seasons growing, or at least the first part of it. But its good to be prepared. And although its hard work its satisfying work. I cant tend to it much working away but the missus is more on-board so she'll be helping more. But Ive already got loads planted in pots waiting to go out to the Polytunnles. Yes immigration at the unsustainable levels we're seeing in the UK and Europe as a whole is pure madness, but try telling the Bleeding Heart Lefties this. By the time comes to say 'I told you so' It will be to late for everyone. Ah well.
  7. I really don think things will get anywhere near as bad as that in the UK. But we could get hit with inflation quite badly and any savings you have will be heavily dented. Where as the markets will turn to Metals in such a time as they traditionally do and you will have protected your savings. There's only so much Rice I can store too.
  8. Im surprised its as little as 1/3. Yeh, gonna be a bit of a different world going forward. Hopefully one where we collectively stand up to China. Wish I had the spare cash to invest in Gold. Id like more than the measly amount I have as a safety buffer.
  9. The last down turn was because OPEC see's US Shale as a major competitor and would destabilize their position. So OPEC turned on the taps dropping Crude down from $100 a barrel to a price well below the break even cost of Shale. Which was about mid to high $60's. But the US Shale through ruthless cutbacks and innovation reduced their break even down to mid to high $20's, or low $30's, I cant remember now. But OPEC blinked first and agreed to chock back. I do wonder if Shale can withstand another stress test so soon after the last, and biggest down turn Ive ever seen. I guess thats yet to be seen. But this latest pissing contest is with Russia. One things for sure, Shale is here to stay. Frac Rigs will just get mothballed till the prices go back up a little. Shale oil in the US is beyond massive and now fairly cheap to produce thanks to new tech and OPEC for forcing their hand. The US just needs to get a proper foothold in Venezuela and OPEC will lose its control on the market.
  10. Never mind. OPEC meeting delayed. Stupid twats. OPEC Meeting Is Delayed as Saudi and Russian Tensions Flare - The New York Times WWW.NYTIMES.COM The meeting, planned for Monday, had buoyed hopes for a quick deal to end the turmoil in oil markets.
  11. Thought you where much older than that.
  12. Im surprised you two guys got that.
  13. Damn, that kinda sucks. Shells always gonna bounce back, all the big players are. My Companies Stock was at its lowest between January 1st and March the 31st at $4.80 .I put £600 a month into a Company Pot and every three months I get the stock at that lowest point. Already they're now back to $7.60. But they where $25 in January and May 2018 they where $52. So potentially in 12 months I'll have made 10 times on them. We'll see. Supposedly Russia and OPEC where meeting to discuss chocking back the taps over the weekend, so if we see them stop swinging their Dicks we might see the taps close and prices return to a healthy level.
  14. Nah, just feels like it. Only 17 days so far. But I think I'll have to do another 4 weeks before Im getting home. No flights anyway. If things have not improved in the next 4-5 weeks I'll have to do another 2 weeks quarantine again, and Id rather do that in my work period and use my off-period for making some money.
  15. Ah ok, makes more sense when you spoon feed it to me.
  16. Yeh, still get my salary and a food allowance. Just no off-shore bonus till I actually get off-shore. But in one weeks time I start my off-period and if they wish to keep me here thats when the real money kicks in.
  17. What? Sorry, carried away there. Nah, job delayed at another hotel now. Heading out the morn late afternoon, so hopefully its no delayed any further. Although Im now on season 3 of The Man in the High Castle so I could binge watch a few more episodes. And there's a Sushi close by too.
  18. Ive just invested in a used Makita one. No used it yet though, someone dropped it off when I was in Norway. Chains are pricey and Makita say they cannot be sharpened, but I found a company on-line that does them in Englandshire. Seems like folk in the US have them sharpened to. Under £30 sharpened and returned inc vat. Ive seen chains and sprockets on ebay for about £130 new, but generic no names, so no idea of the quality.
  19. Not quite. Its estimated about half the tattie crops failed. Potatoes where still shipped to England during the famine, along with everything else.
  20. The English stole them from the Irish? Ah yeh, that's right enough.
