  1. I tried that log bomb in some beech rounds that I had sitting for about a year. Was rock solid and the Bomb just bounced out time and time again. Id be looking at getting a Splitting Maul over a set up like this. Fiskars X series, ie X25 or if you're tall the X27. Really can cleave its way through most rounds. If you have a constant supply of logs needing done then maybe consider a Petrol Log Splitter?
  2. On a warm day.
  3. Sometimes that extra 0.4mm makes all the difference.
  4. I don’t accept PayPal anymore unless it’s sent as friends and family and always try to pay via PayPal. Been burned far to many times. One guy shafted me on a GX 390 as he said I missold him it due to being advertised as a 1” shaft and he measured it and it was 25mm ?‍♂️

  6. Sounds like its gonna cost you a small fortune for this favour. The link below is worth a look. Ripper Blades are 10 degree, a good all rounder. Can the profile of the blade be easily changed? Ie if there blades are on their last or second to last sharpen I wonder if its posible to change them from between 4-7 degrees and hold them back for such jobs as this? Stephen Cull would be the man to ask. How To Choose a Sawmill Blade Profile | Wood-Mizer USA WOODMIZER.COM
  7. I wonder how much work is involved in modifying a system from a competitor? Can see this being the only real-life solution we're ever gonna see as any generic system would still need adapting anyway.
  8. I always assumed it was available from the get-go? Not of interest to me so not really looked into it. Could it be the new version of the Smart-Set is due out in April? I seem to remember you saying one of your buddies has a B1001 and he's not set up the smart-set yet, but has it ready?
  9. I have the older, but still available version of the B751, there is also a Pro version that has the same bad as the B1001. Logosol said they would make a trailer package for the B751 but in the end outsourced it to Knott in Germany, they seem to be quite a respected Trailer Manufacturer. They where tasked with building a Trailer that the whole B751 Mill would slot into and still be under the 750kg limit. As regards flex there is some if you jack one leg up but there is zero flex when level and set up for use. I can take 1/8" veneer cuts the full length of the log. No torque or twist in the chassis when pulling behind the car. Sorry but I cant comment on the B1001 or the B751 Pro but they went away from the original B751 for rigidity reasons and also the Pro bed being the same as the B1001 will take the same additions, ie Set works, Ramps, winch, toe boards etc etc. If the budget is a concern and its for farm use and at home I really dont see the need for the Trac-met to be honest? If you've got £15,000 (aprox) Id be looking at the B1001 if you wanted new or seeing what that could buy you on the second hand market, ie a Woodmizer. Woodmizers website lists used Mills, might be worth a look?
  10. I see you edited you comment to add that little dig (toy) What a plank.
  11. Yeh, looking on the website there does not seem to be any hydraulic options? Im sure there was before so thats a bit odd. Unless they have removed them for the new setworks Rough mentioned? I was under the impression the setworks is for adjusting the saw head height and feeding it through the log, but it seems like more options are coming at a later date. Will this work off of the petrol model thats used in remote locations? No idea? But I do have the winch on my 751 and its very good. Makes very light work of loading and turning big logs.
  12. Maybe he's doing this but for real? Laugh and you get the chop.
  13. Some people have no sense of humour.
  14. No? I dont remember that. Sounds funny though. Did anyone get their heads cut off after?
  15. Whilst funny its a stark reality that the American people should not foot the bill for every Tin Pot nations problems. If they are so poor and cannot afford their own protection but have rich reserves of any kind then thats whats gonna be used (exploited) to pay for it. The American Military Machine is basically a money making machine for private companies. Its like the stickers you used to see in the '70's. Gas, grass or ass, no one rides for free. And if these countries dont have grass or cash then they better pucker up and bend over because the US War Machine will be wanting a piece of that Ass.
  16. For 90cm Logs you'd do a lot worse than the Logosol B1001. Hydraulic options can be retrofitted. Great build quality, great service back-up, parts readily available. Cheap to trailerise. (cheaper than doing it yourself) Worth a thought.
  17. Unless they have oil, then they'll get some of our freedoms.
  18. It is shocking, and it is worrying, but not unknown. Was until this clip deep within the realms of Tin Foil Hat wearing Conspiracy nuts. But whilst it is chilling that its going on, and I look forward to watching the video. But, and of course there is a but. The fact remains that if you display a comical picture of Allah or the Prophet then one of any number of the members of the religion of peace will start slaughtering innocent men women and children anywhere in Europe. As previously mentioned the Ex-PM for Malaysia endorses the killing of Millions of French over the picture, which will encourage unknow numbers of Muslims to do just that and you just have to look at the reaction all across the Muslim World to Marcons words. Its truly terrifying and with our porus boarders any number of these Muslims can come over and carry out these atrocities. The last few Islamic Terrorists have done just that. This guy can openly criticize the FBI nothing will happen. Do you honestly think if he critiqued Islam to even a 10th of this there would not be blood spilled by Muslims in any number of European Countries and they would not be screaming blue murder?
  19. Agreed, it is atrocious. And I also agree CCP are the biggest threat to the world as we know it today. But to paint the never ending terrorist acts all over Europe perpetrated by those who do so in the name of Islam as one man and a machete is quite asinine. You’re either intentionally and vastly down playing what is happening or your quite ignorant of what’s actually happening.
  20. You’re on to a hiding here Dave. People just don’t care. They’d rather win smug “woke” points on the internet. “But, but but” comments. Like the Crusades? ?‍♂️ It’s pointless arguing against that kind of mentality. Thoughts and prayers as I mentioned earlier.

  22. My eyes are painted on. I really dont know enough about Ash to say. Did read this though; The wood is fairly stable and dries faster than the norm, with minimal shrinkage when drying. https://www.canadianwoodworking.com/get-more/white-ash-fraxinus-americana#:~:text=This versatile wood is also, fine flooring%2C cabinetry and furniture.&text=Woodworkers appreciate the lustrous look,is similar to red oak.&text=The wood is fairly stable, with minimal shrinkage when drying.
  23. What wood are you milling them out of? For what will most likely be fairly small pieces cant you order kiln dried on-line? I milled my Mantle and supports recently. Was not fussed about a few cracks/checks. Adds character [emoji3] Milled it outta Oak. Within a week the Stove was lit and is blasting out the heat. Thats been over 4 weeks now and its remained surprisingly stable.
  24. When I served my time as a mechanic there was a lass going to tech at the same time as us. We all worked together as a team and more importantly we could all bring something different to the table. We where all about the same competency-wise. Big lads can do the heavier lifting if needed, but being quite a petite lass she could get her hands into the most difficult of places in an engine bay that the lads simply could not. Its all about team work and using and not detracting from our strengths. We're seeing far more ladies off-shore here in Norway, and not just the cushie jobs but the 12-16 hours in the driving rain and snow jobs head to toe in Oil Based -mud on the Drill Floor. I look forward to working with the girls in our crew and they just get on with it and generally put in way and above most of what the lads do. Plus having a cute girl on the crew you have no issues getting lifts with the crane.
