  1. Read the whole series. Great stuff. I like how they can’t remember her where earth is and someone suggests where it might actually be (they are correct) no one believes them. 🤣 I like his short stories as well. Some real mind benders and had me pondering over them for days. Much like Alistair Raynolds shorts. I love Science Fiction. I’ve loads of books if you want any Saul.
  2. Just paid a coupe of grand on a now worthless Trailer Licence. 🤣
  3. You get more working in Tesco’s! 🤣
  4. You’ve worded the first paragraph better than I. I don’t see how it contradicts what I said? Take your 1l Mica as an example. Do you think they should be allowed to jump into a Grand Cherokee regardless if it’s towing or not? Ironically as soon as my 18 year old will be doing just that if she passes her test at the end of the month. I really don’t care why it was brought in, I just don’t think the drop in traffic accidents since the 70’s is due to the trailer rule that came into effect in 1997. In my opinion the reasons as what you outlined in your first paragraph. But I’ll now be able to tow 3.5t without looking over my shoulder for the Coopers all the time. And that surely is gonna be much safer. 🤣
  5. Car safety features and build quality have improved massively since then though. As has the stringency of the MOT. It this is by far the biggest reason for the drop in deaths on the roads. Then we have the change in the publics views on drink driving and having that better enforced. In my opinion the change in requiring a Trailer License post 1997 would be a mere blip on the stats.
  6. Did you note the origin? Latvia I think?
  7. It's an eco grill but they still shrink wrap it in plastic! Yeh, and the carbon footprint involved in kiln drying them, machining them and shipping them to the UK must be high. Like most things that are labled 'eco' they are anything but.
  8. Unnecessary but would be interested to seem them burn. Think I would of had one for £5 just for cracks. If Im back I'll pick one up.
  9. Yip. But its marketed as a BBQ. Was a pallet full of them reduced from £10 to a fiver. Would have had a punt at £2.50.
  10. I had a raised veg patch til last month. Never had an issue with Carrot Fly where as the FIL always does. Flattened the Veg patch now and put grass seed down as I'll be moving the veg patch further away from the house. Gonna stick with Garlic though as its the best money saving for the area and we eat about 4 a week at a minimum.
  11. Seen something similar in a garden center yesterday. Way to much work involved in these though
  12. There is something very wrong with his mental stability.
  13. I was hoping after all this time we’d a picture of this staircase he popped out to take a photo of. Instead all we got was a picture of him sanding a plank and some pictures he ripped off the internet he took credit for. 🤣
  14. And we all know your trouble.
  15. By selling at a lower price than he’d ordinarily ask if required?
  16. An old fertility ritual.
  17. I’m sure someone would buy them. Not my cuppa at all. But certainly love the grain and potential that’s there.
  18. Yeh, I can see Bitch working well. Roll up the bark and jamb it down the slot and off it goes.
  19. Not a mansion but a very poorly insulated single glazed farmhouse with 6 chimneys and full of women. 🤣 Double Glazing should have been installed last summer but “Covid”. One of the stoves does our cooking and hot water sinks on 24/7.
  20. Can’t see hardwoods working.
  21. Hmmmm, not buying it. When will you finish them?
  22. Just seen this on FB 🤣
  23. That’s great! To me that shows the power the people can have when not competing with people who’s cost of living and house prices are vastly less than us in the U.K. Brexits slowly but surely working.
  24. Yeh, time will tell. The reality of it is they where/are paying about the same as someone earns in Tesco’s stacking shelves. Utterly ridiculous. Their wages need to rise to a level that’s worthwhile spending considerable time away from their families and the skill level and responsibility involved. Now that the flood gates have closed hopefully that happens. £20 an hour does not sound excessive to me. Im hearing reports from the U.K. oil and Gas sector that people are now working for £100 a day. Imagine sacrificing your life and time away from your family for that? Joining the EU and employers access to cheap Labour has been a race to the bottom.
