  1. Try Business Choice Direct if you haven't already. I've always used them for my van
  2. I can't remember the last time I sent a letter and I work for Royal Mail on Saturday mornings. The direction towards more people using email is only going to continue and it looks like I will see the end of the letter in y life time.
  3. I'd already sorted out the gloves, it was just the chrome that I was after as more work is potentially coming after this.
  4. Good evening everyone, Does anyone on here do reed pulling or know anyone that does reed pulling. It's just that I've got a reed pulling job coming up in the next few weeks and could possibly do with a chrome. If anyone is wondering what I'm going on about it looks like a really long handled fork with the prongs bent over at 90 degrees. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. David
  5. FS460 owner with two different blades here. I've found you're best of changing guards for the appropriate tool as they are designed and work best with certain cutting tools.
  6. Whereabouts are you? I have some depitox that I have no use for at the moment.
  7. The best solution appears to be an allen scythe and mini baler for your needs. Just be warned that a mini baler requires a fairly powerful two wheel tractor to run off. Also check the bolts on an allen scythe on the regular especially around the cutter bar, as based on previous experience those coming loose is a common fault on the BCS ones
  8. I have been working at the Royal Mail mail centre at Inverness as a temp since November and Rob D's story does sound to me like a rather unusual exception rather than the norm.
  9. Personally not tried the echo long reach but I do have one of their non long reach cutters abnd they definitely are up to the job.
  10. Have you looked at using a stihl Kombi system with some of the extension shafts assuming you can get hold of three or four extensions.
  11. I'm guessing, based on experience at a previous job that the spare tyre will get nicked. At some point. Probably sooner rather than later.
  12. Try Business Choice Direct: they're a broker but they always seem to find me a good deal.
  13. From the point of view of someone who doesn't climb: the chainsaw, silky and three inch chippers.
  14. Whereabouts is the work? Someone on here may well be able to help with the herbicides as a good solution may be one person with a chainsaw cutting the rhododendrons and someone following on behind painting the stumps with herbicide.
