  1. You have just done your standard thing and thrown a line in there and presumed way way too much. The language barrier is it 🤔. No one speaks French I guess eggs ??.
  2. You’d happily pay more !!.
  3. That’s a topic all on it’s own but the blatantly obvious elephant in the bloody room that blows all the political side of your argument out the water is why are they crossing from a safe country then. Are they not passing through multiple countries they could claim asylum in if they really were that desperate !! then cross the channel 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️so it’s the governments fault they are illegally crossing from France “ a safe country “ . As for the locals scum off their heads as you refer to them 🤷‍♂️enforce current laws, lose the softly softly touch with these people.
  4. And who exactly should be looking in this mirror !!. I’d say the current numbers crossing the channel illegally are a significant concern for a number of reasons.
  5. Laws and immigration policies are in this case 2 separate points. I’ll repeat that if the police, Hmrc and other agencies did the job they are supposed to do then things might be a bit better. We have all seen what happens when the police can not tackle issues for fear of the racism card being played in the likes of Rotherham and Blackpool etc etc. As an aside my eldest daughter whom was born in Finland and has a Finnish passport but lived here all her life was returning from SA only a week ago with some of her veterinary students and was grilled about her settled status, she’s white with a strong Northumbrian accent so not exactly a prime suspect.
  6. That’s been a well known fact for years, our weak as piss laws and immigration policies combined with a gentle touch policing approach have led to this just being the norm in many areas. Again if Hmrc did their job along with other agencies it would be easily sorted.
  7. Good luck to them I say, why should the bank take a fee for every single card transaction, tax avoidance 🤷‍♂️is theirs and Hmrcs business. What is far worse is when they won’t take cash, the new Aberdeen exhibition centre for example is totally cashless for all the gigs there 😡 Burger King during the covid farce we’re another bunch who refused to take legal tender. Absolutely outrageous quite frankly, there should be legislation in place to stop such behaviour.
  8. Not hard to understand really, I’m more than happy for any of my 4 sons to do a trade or a hands on role or get dirty at work. I’ve had two or 3 close calls over the years in the military and the diving and through I will openly admit a good dose of luck I’m still here. I’d not wish the mental stress of long periods away from home, missing your kids growing up and zero job security on anyone but it’s a choice I made way back. My wish for them is not to be in the situations I’ve been in based upon my own experiences if they choose to ignore the advice then so be it, I’ll then help them every way I can. I hope I never get the call I know at least 6 mothers and fathers of guys I’ve known have received over the last 30plus years doing this job.
  9. Absolutely agree Andy As you know I’ve cut right back bud, I know 3-4 lads who are now going for their overseas days to totally step out of the UK tax system. We are talking of guys who were previously putting in a good 30-50k a year to Hmrc 🤷‍♂️you can squeeze people so far but eventually they say to hell with it. As you have seen on here there are still those who blame people at the bottom ( just as those calling the shots want you to) for trying to get on rather than looking at the bigger picture.
  10. In the meantime Andy none of Epsteins pals or those in maxwells contact list face any questions whatsoever. BBC like much of the LGBTQ filth obsessing media is long overdue a much needed clear out.
  11. I remember some good times working with the UDR lads on a couple of NI tours, hardy hardy buggers who lived with the risk 24/7.
  12. Start off as a diver in the inshore civil engineering side of things, progress to offshore air diving then after a certain period get your sat ticket done along with a multitude of other qualifications and hopefully you can get a start. No guarantees at all though and it’s very much dependent on how busy the industry is, who you know or the price of oil.etc etc A good background trade in particular welding is a bonus for hyperbaric welding ( 3k a day) it’s not a good career for job security or families that’s for sure and to get up to the level of training required to do the job we are discussing is an outlay of maybe 40-50k over time. But no doubt about the rewards can be very good as is the buzz you get at times. One of my sons has just started in the game against my wishes I might add but good luck to him 👍
  13. Guys it’s not at all as hard to pay that amount of tax if you are in the right environment or industry . Over the 7 year period I mentioned give or take the payment on account crap it’s about £38k a year. I know full time contracted sat divers who are paying out 70-90k a year in tax. This is the reason many are choosing to pursue their trade overseas etc. If you think about it up here in SNP progressive tax land it’s 42% after £46300 plus your NI so easy over 50%, go above the next threshold and you start to lose your personal allowance and it’s even more as a percentage so nowhere near 1.5 million eggs in reality. I genuinely do not think people realise how hard we are being hit tax wise and all it does is literally keep working people down. I know talking to Andy he gets hammered for tax in Scotland even after paying his tax at source in Norway. All of the above is the reason I’ve literally took my foot right off the work pedal. The general public are it would seem very unaware of how little you need to earn before the system kicks into “ keep you down mode”
  14. The game is made harder not by the minions at the bottom but rather those manipulating the rules from above to think otherwise is very naive. Since 15/16 ( I know the exact figure due to a recently concluded 4 year Hmrc investigation) I’ve paid £271k personal tax into the system I’d say that is more than playing the “game”. I’ll take a bit of cash all day long if the opportunity arises.
  15. Your mrs was an Hmrc investigator 🤷‍♂️that’s a thread stopper I’d say. Relentless heartless c…s in my experience.
  16. In the current financial climate any income that is not raped by the system is more than welcome in my book. I’d say the amount of people taking cash is still very very high. In particular with loads of timber where cash really does talk.
  17. Absolutely nothing wrong with paying wages in cash at all, as long as it’s with the correct paper trail showing deductions etc and or get him to sign for it. Quite frankly it tends to make people more fiscally responsible when it’s hard cash they are handling on a day to day basis rather than painlessly swiping a bit of plastic, as well the banks know.
  18. Agree 100% and pretty much what I feel about the enquiry too and what it’s going to cost. Sweden has completed theirs already 🤷‍♂️
  19. Police investigating Tory Partygate 'jingle and mingle' bash after bombshell Mirror video APPLE.NEWS In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: 'Following assessment of new evidence that was not... I’d have thought the Met would have something better to do judging by the amount of stabbings at the minute than waste time enforcing a historical bit of crap regulation that turned out actually to have been far more harmful and damaging than the thing it was supposedly protecting us all from.
  20. Tegid at Supersharp, LL14 post code great guy, very helpful and does a cracking job 👍
  21. Accurate to within less than a mm easy if set and sharpening is good. Any 25mm - 50mm wide band won’t be overly slow going through timber neither with the right amount of grunt behind it. Admittedly it won’t match a large wide band set up for speed but a lot less waste and attainable for a lot more of us.
  22. Covid pandemic linked to surge in child and teen diabetes WWW.BBC.CO.UK Experts have seen a 'substantial' yet unexplained rise in new cases worldwide since the pandemic. 🤷‍♂️unexplained
  23. VP of Russian bank Kristina Baikova, 28, falls to her death from window of Moscow apartment APPLE.NEWS A Russian banking executive, 28, has died after falling from a window of her Moscow apartment. Them Russian windows again 🤷‍♂️
  24. King Charles redirects £1bn windfarm profits towards ‘public good’ | Monarchy | The Guardian AMP.THEGUARDIAN.COM Wind energy agreements have generated windfall that would normally go towards monarchy Follow the money Mark not unlike covid bud, crown estate seabed portfolio !!!!! WTF 🤷‍♂️ Everywhere you look the public are being fleeced, the list of major shareholders in Thames Water and how much they have taken out is a real eye opener too.
  25. 🤔mmm well not that far Mark just some common sense would be nice, I see Sweden are taking the foot off the green pedal a bit and reconsidering options for a reliable base load capacity.
