The whole canal network is I think an underused system. Surely in this day and age with all the green environmental emphasis a well thought out programme utilising larger canals based around iso containers could shift huge amounts of freight from one area to another rather than the never ending night time road based trunking operations.

Temporary Dams 👍 great little jobs in the summer months. id not think it will be in for long, looks good seal and a tidy job they’ve done there.

https://apple.news/ApzG9kqyBQQyeHADnlUyH6Q 🤷♂️😞

I agree in principle but Hinckley for example will prove to be a huge cash cow for who !!! EDF 🤷♂️ Massive change is needed in the UK from the top down and sadly I don’t think we will ever see it.
-
The main point for me 42 is you made an absolute fool of yourself throughout the last media driven farce yet still try to throw in smart arse comments. You were vehemently against everything I stood for during that period and have been proven to be wrong in every way yet now you are an expert on midge numbers and global climate patterns, I don’t avoid anything that’s valid but genuinely won’t even bother to answer multiple vague questions “ an absolute well worn tactic of yours” created from behind your curtains using scenarios based upon the latest round of msm crisis stories. There’s a nice little bit of real world info for you, that’s from the windy north too ps just for your interest It’s cold and damp and has pissed down for the last week back home according to the mrs, my place is lifting with wildlife including a multitude of different insect types. That id like to see, slowly slowly just bundle them off the road and onto the pavement at all times maintaining that apathetic gormless look they seem to have perfected.

Nigel Farage receives apology from Coutts after bank account row APPLE.NEWS Coutts has apologised to Nigel Farage after his bank account was closed. Looks like the racist bigot was telling the truth again.

Here we go with the missing the point thing again the point that only you ever seem to get . 42 you are as blind with this as you were with covid. Punitive actions !!!! Seriously you don’t think charging or fining people to drive their car into a newly proclaimed clean air zone is not punitive, forcing people to upgrade even if they can’t afford it banning the sale of new diesel and petrol cars etc etc the so called climate crisis is the latest thing to be hijacked by the media and as with covid the profits will be huge, and just as they did with covid the gullible will swallow it without question. listen you are obviously happy to have Chinese supplied renewables, Russian coal and oil from anywhere but here all in the name of the environment, crack on buy your electric car and terrify yourself like you did previously. Common sense just doesn’t seem to be that common nowadays in politics or in the population. By the way 42 you want to throw in a Moonbat wisecrack 🤷♂️no probs at all, you have been proven to be utterly wrong and massively gullible/naive during the covid farce whereas the likes of myself and a few others on here have ultimately been proven to have been correct ina lot of what we argued about. The difference between you and some of the other covid zealots is that they have chosen to maybe let it go with the realisation they might well have called it wrong. You on the other hand still try to be a smart arse using the moonbat comment or making out only you get the point etc etc
-
Christ you are beyond talking common sense too. I should have known that after the last few years. Yep chinas wonderful renewables infrastructure eh 42 🤔oh yeah they are massively into that along with the multiple new coal fired power stations and steel works. There is a balance to be had and we could start by cutting China out the loop in regards what we see around our coastline. Educate yourself on the current reality of uk renewables and the source of most of the eqpt 42 and the tidal options available in the uk etc etc the changes required need to be from government and be long term strategic ones rather than punitive actions to the average citizen in the short term. Unlike yourself 42 I’ve seen first hand and worked within the renewable industry, seen all the vessels, the crews the crane barges the heavy lift ships hauling jackets and monopoles from China and elsewhere all the way to the uk to install off our coastline wind farms that generate eye watering profits for mainly overseas companies.paid for in the end by UK customers.
-
You ever been involved with any of the current renewables projects or see where the kit is actually made or who is installing it ??
-
Like I say you do like to gobble up a bit of hysteria 42. Get yourself to China and India and see how you get on. We do far more than most here. You of all people advising “ open your eyes” that’s pretty ironic.
-
Alternatively?? Lib/Dem 🤮Greens 🤷♂️we’ve seen how useless they are up here Mark. Starmers arse will fall out if he ever gets in and it will be back to the same old crap merry go round, you can see that already.
-
It’s true 👍 42 if the last couple of years are anything to go buy you’d swallow like Linda Lovelace when it comes to a hysterical msm headline. Wise up ffs man, we in the west and in Europe in particular are pretty sensitive to the environment already. Absolutely burdening ourselves with insane legislation that particularly affects normal working people is insane when you look at for example India and China and how much coal they use etc.
-
MSN WWW.MSN.COM Seems they can do exactly that, even to a racist bigot apparently 👍. Bit ripe a bank built upon the earnings of the super rich “ not exactly a class of people renowned for high moral standards “ getting on its high horse. I hope Farage drags them straight to court if he’s in the right.
-
Yep it’s hot in Greece in July
-
You seen how much has been given to them to build this 🤷♂️ This country is screaming out for some common sense decent government something I don’t see from any party right now.

Blair and Starmer bask in each other’s reflected glory | Keir Starmer | The Guardian AMP.THEGUARDIAN.COM Current Labour leader and former Labour PM find validation in onstage love-in Not to worry I see the messiah TB is being brought in from the cold by Starmer now, that’s gonna be a massive vote winner eh Mark 😂
-
Is it Mark really or is that what the media is telling everyone just as they did with covid. mate who gives a shit about BJ,s wats app messages eh end of day every single party supported every single measure and restriction. As a nation the vast majority were utterly duped. Many many made a mockery of themselves.
-
Some world we live in nowadays Mark, the msm and social media are probably some of the most destructive forces we see on a day to day basis. On that note it’s climate that seems to be the new covid for the media. Relentless hysterical headlines on the subject.
-
Lol well I’ll admit he was good at rubbing people up the wrong way.

It certainly doesn’t help but the mrs ran a 64 plate insignia for 8 years until she took out a roe a few months back and sadly the car was a total loss, that car had over a 100k on the clock and zero rust underneath anywhere. Both my Ranger wildtracks in particular the last one a 68 plate have looked terrible after only 18-24months, I’m past caring now in all honesty as it’s well out of warranty ( chassis swap has been done) and the plan is to run it to the death so to speak.

Keir Starmer: ‘We can’t win power by spending. We need to reform and create wealth’ | Keir Starmer | The Guardian AMP.THEGUARDIAN.COM Exclusive: Labour leader urges left to ‘care more about growth’ and rules out spending ‘vast sums of money’ Reform and create wealth 🤔🤷♂️ that will be a first for labour. Mind you old Blair certainly created a good deal of wealth for himself since he baled out.

Why should she 🤷♂️pre brexit no issue and post brexit permanently settled status. Admittedly one of her brothers has done the uk passport thing but still keeps his Finnish one too , having completed his National service over there he’s entitled to that for life.
-
You seem to be having a good few Woodrow Wyatt moments lately 🤔

Ok then bollocks to it eh, let’s put a sign up at Dover “ if you can speak English in you come “ don’t worry about the cost or any of the societal implications eh, just open the bloody doors. Every time I’ve been abroad for a sustained period or an a vessel with different nationalities I have made a concerted effort out of respect and courtesy to try and pick up the language of that country or Individual even if only the bare basics rather than rely on the “ natives “ as you put it to speak English.
