  1. Totally agree with you on this breeze. Day after day I see old people struggling to drive or shaking at the wheel of a car!
  2. Sounds like the buyer is trying to get the saw for free and just using the box as an excuse!
  3. Was expecting replies like that to be honest. And as ive got no gear and no experience with mountain walking think I'll give this one a miss! Cheers guys.
  4. Any walkers on here that have done this route? Couple of friends are doing it next weekend and asked me to go along but im no mountaineer! I'm fit enough to walk 7 miles but this looks like a serious climbing/walking route. So if there's any walkers on here with any advice please share
  5. Nope, because for some reason my photos won't upload!! Getting heavier here aswell now.
  6. A light shower of snow here (Sheffield) but doesn't feel cold
  7. You need CS 30 and 31 before you can get your 38 and 39 tickets I belive. How about looking into an arboriculture apprenticeship?
  8. Yes they do. At least every top handle I've seen does.
  9. Cheers Joe will have a search when young 'un is in bed. Also can one of mods move this into Climbers Talk section please?
  10. Hey peeps, I am on the cs 38 / 39 course in April and im wanting to get some kit together before hand and was hoping you could give me some more excellent advice. Is the equipment supplied in this starter kit about right for what I'd need as a beginer? Is it a decent price too? Tree Climbing Starter Kit With Avao Harness - Northern ARB Supplies Cheers
  11. Good to hear because I've just bought the £80 timberpro top handle saw it's not going to get much use as my climbing course isn't until April but it'll do for the amount of use its going to get.
  12. If you have got enough money get as many tickets as possible. Go for CS 30, 31, 38, 39, woodchipper, stumpgrinder and trailer licence. Your only problem then is getting the experience
  13. That's another book which is on my Amazon whislist but will have to wait a bit longer to get that one.
  14. Ordered The Tree Climbers Companion yesterday so should be here in next few days and booking onto the course for March
  15. Nice work Will. Anything is better then nothing when it's for a good cause!
  16. very true that statement! Same as that young lad who wouldn't come down the stairs. You knew he was going to f*ck things up at some point.
  17. Cheers. I'm definitely going to go for it now but just going to make sure I get lots of practice in with the knots before the course and read whatever books I purchase on climbing. Worst case scenario is that I fail and have to save up and do it again!
  18. Sounds like he was hoping the saw would sell for a lot more and he'd get enough to cover cost of a courier plus a bit extra for himself. Completely up to you whether you chase it up or not but personally I'd let this one go.
  19. Oo yes definitely been best series so far and glad they have come up with new story lines and not become repetitive! Not bothered with Fear the Walking Dead though as don't want to ruin a good series buy watching some **** spin off!
  20. Colder in the Steel City today and yesterday but dry and bright so temp is either going to drop or rise!
  21. Want to resurrect this thread as I love this program and can't wait until it starts again in Feb! I don't watch much tv but this is one of maybe 4 programs that I do actually watch.
  22. What is wrong with the pines? It looks as if the outer two aren't growing as well as the middle one is that why you want rid of them?
  23. I don't at the moment Steve but have seen it on Google play store.
  24. Thanks again. Sure I'd stop worrying once I actually started the course and got learning in a real live situation, also ive got plenty of time to practice the knots at home and read the books. All the advice given on here has been great and made me more determined to get my CS 38 / 39 tickets, thanks guys + girls
