  1. Difficult to recommend a specific product because I'm using it for different purposes - usually involving grp or acrylic (so 291 is our choice but not necessarily ideal for wood. A quick search on the Sikaflex website suggests that their Sikaflex -11FC Purform might be suitable, but then again they also have -118 Extreme Grab as well - links below. I have found that their technical support dept is very good and more than happy to advise. Deffo worth shopping round/google as prices can vary widely - almost by an order of magnitude. Don't exclude other products from your deliberations - we also use Arbokol, Arbomast and CT-1 depending on the specifics of the job in hand. Sikaflex®-11 FC Purform® | Expansion Joints & Perimeter Seals GBR.SIKA.COM Sikaflex®-11 FC Purform® is a 1-part moisture curing elastic adhesive and sealant. It is used for interior and exterior... Sikaflex 118 Extreme Grab - Elastic Adhesive Bonding | Sika UK | Elastic Adhesive Bonding GBR.SIKA.COM Sikaflex®-118 Extreme Grab is a 1- part construction adhesive with very high initial grab which bonds most construction...
  2. Similar question - if using the for comms and music - will it only be the person who is choosing to listen to the music who hears it?!
  3. Can't help so far as housebuilding is concerned, but we use Sikaflex for bedding windows in to boats. There are many polysulphide/polyeurethane (sp?) sealants out there that will do the job. Some also swear by butyl tape which is clean and simple, but I have no experience of that.
  4. If you are outside a smoke-controlled area does that mean you can still have a good old bonfire? Hope so as we have four trees to take down in my parents garden soon!
  5. Meribel, and skied in the three Valleys. It was during the first week of February when the World Championships were in town and the slopes were in good nick but very very hard and icy - as I confirmed! Thankfully it was day 5 of 7 when I wiped out, but I made the mistake hiding the pain with painkillers for the last two days so I could continue to ski (albeit somewhat gingerly) and am now paying the price.
  6. Nah, it wasn't that - just trying to imagine what a 'Sceptic' tank looks like
  7. I tend to use Stanley/FatMax for general outside or site work, but also have a couple of Stabila ones that I keep 'for best' - iw working inside at home with shelves etc. The stanley ones seem to take a reasonable amount of abuse before they lose their calibration.
  8. If only - you'll have noticed that my profile is somewhat less streamlined! Had to speed it up else people would have died of boredom. Working on my own means I prefer to take it steady - especially when the house is within range if it all goes pear shaped. On that phase about 35 were removed - I have another 10-12 to do as soon as I have recovered from the cracked ribs that are currently confining me to the keyboard. (They weren't from the tree felling, but re-confirming that gravity still works whilst skiing - my wife keeps telling me I should give up but hey ho!
  9. Seeing as that seemed to work, here is another. A slightly larger trunk - one of the last of the first group that we felled. I should perhaps add that I am what you guys would call a 'weekend warrior' - albeit I've been doing so for 40+ years - so please don't be too critical! The expletive was from my (then) 13 year old son.
  10. Not sure if this will work but, if so, one of the many spruce trees we took down during the 2021 lockdown Target area was quite small (ie between house and other trees - so we erred on the side of caution and aimed for the ash with dieback.
  11. Found these when clearing out the 'phone this afternoon First two taken when we dropped some of the trees in our back garden during lockdown - despite appearances she is nearly 6 yrs old!
  12. The Tree Clinic Surrey - Tree Surgeons based in Woking covering Surrey & Berkshire WWW.TREECLINICSURREY.CO.UK
  13. I hire cars abroad maybe three or four time a year and have always found 'HolidayAutos' to be pretty fair TBH - they effectively act as a broker and use the larger firms. The further ahead you book the cheaper it seems to be. One piece of advice would be to take a standalone insurance policy to cover the excess rather than accept it as an add-on. Our policy costs around £45 a year, covering the whole of Europe for multiple trips in a year.
  14. Or go the whole hog and buy a Silky polesaw but also with the additional pruner/cutter head?
  15. The final pararaph appears to conflict with your (repeated) view
  16. Not sure this helps Bill, but I am right handed yet the first glove I remove is from my left hand - not that I wear gloves very often.
