  1. Near impossible to quote with just a photo , somewhere between 500 and 800 for me as long as there is no metal in the trunk and the branches arnt hanging over the power line and chip and wood to stay on site and no dog eggs on the lawn !

  4. Hi , I've just bout a timberwolf 150 vtr , I'm currently looking at an indespension 2000 8x4 plant trailer, it looks like it maybe a tight squeeze with the hopper being 4 ft wide , does any body use one themselves or have any suggestions, thanks
  5. I use skytec basalt r gloves, very cheap , tenner for ten pairs , last better than other makes I've used , they are fairly thin but the rubber lining on the palms doesnt catch in your zigag or prussic , you can get the thermal version as well , but they are too thick for me for climbing

I had tennis elbow fairly bad at 35 , then I bought a tens machine that straps onto your arm , i used it twice a day for a month , symptoms went away , it only reoccurs now and again and nothing like as bad . Also a few years ago I changed from prussic to zig zig which also helps , now 45 a no pain , touch wood !
  9. Hi , I paid £ 16 per tonne for standing ash , perfect 8 to 12 inch straight with few branches , worked out ok money wise on a steep rocky site , fair bit of winching was required, nice change from climbing for a week or 2 .

  11. Hi , I've got some decent size poplars to fell in West Cumbria , approx 50 tonne , average about 24 inch diameter at chest height , any know of a buyer that would be interested ?
  12. Best to go when your knackered after a days graft , more likely to put a decent price on it than when fresh and all keen

    Not sure why it wasn't felled back then , found out today it has 2 aborists reports carried out on it that recommended felling , so it's looking like a reapplication , wonder if it'll be the same outcome it will it be safe if I fill it wid concrete !?

    Hi could do with some advice please , recently we had a client that applied to fell a tree covered by a tpo back in 2007 , permission was granted under the 5 day emergency works ruling , however this work was never carried out for whatever reason , does anyone know if this would still stand or a new application will have to be submitted ? Thanks

  17. yeah tried twisting but its really tight , which way are you twisting it if you are looking down on the top side ?
  18. ive got a husaqvarna logging tape which hasnt been used for while , the last 6 foot or so wont go back on the tape drum does anybody know how to tighten up the spring or does it need replaced .cheers

  22. Hi , just about to start a clearfell (120 tonne),of straight ash and sycamore all between 8 inch and 16 inch diameter . Looking to sell probably June , july time , job is in west Cumbria ,access and loading on Tarmac road , anybody any idea on best roadside prices at the moment

  24. I find it often helps to put a time limit on the invoice , if this is not met increase it by 10 % , usually works , or go and knock on a few doors politely !
