  1. Tesla don't make batteries, or if they do they do its under licence.. not sure if its makita or not.. In the case of whatever this Tesla Panel is.. as long as its paid for from his own pocket I wish him well.. however, I suspect I have paid for his free panel out my electric bill..... in that regards he can shove his panel up his arse..
  2. waste of time and money... 20% on our electric bills to pay the odd sandal wearing yogurt knitter to brag about a Tesla Panel.. give me strength.....
  3. another way to look at the job is this.. When Smith125 agreed to do the job, what did he agree to do?.. did he price to remove the waste?.. I imagine he did.. end of story... and by the way, over the years I've done a good few fence jobs.. you wouldn't believe the amount of people who agree to chip in and never get round to paying up.. whether they're skint or otherwise. once the jobs done its a matter of sticking their heads in the sand and hoping it never gets mentioned.. My ex agreed to chip in with the costs of her fence or the next doors fence depending on who was about to spend money.. the neighbour paid all the costs as he wanted it doin that year and not twenty odd years later if left to her.. Here an there I'd ask her if she'd chipped in yet with the fence considering how much nicer it made the garden look.. she'd put her head down shamefaced or threaten to knife me depending on her mood at the time... like most people, she liked the fence but didn't like to pay for it... I imagine the owner of the tree is in the same boat.. Somebody else's problem..
  4. I'd be happy the owner isn't insisting it stays put and just glad to have permission to remove the damn thing.. Like Mick says, get it done get paid and get gone..
  5. Yea, I enjoyed reading that for the same reason.. some lines were beautifully put.. just a sample.. We walked for half an hour that morning parting curtains of butterflies.. The woman is a gifted writer if nothing else.. Who knows, if brexit takes off and we let hard economics rule the day then we should have many more acres going back to seed.. who'd want to pay European food prices when world prices are so much cheaper..
  6. Won't stop em trying thats for sure..
  7. A clue might be found in exploding phones. Yes things have improved, but oh wait, someones leg got blew off, lets think again...
  8. It does help. To be forewarned is to be forearmed..
  9. perhaps the first battery types for tools you bought were the old type, now they're better batteries... lithium batteries replacing sodium or cadmium types.. the point being that a limit has been reached. now if you watched the video I posted you'll have a better understanding of whats bein got at...
  10. He works in the nuclear industry.. nuclear scientist.
  11. I imagine the batteries are bigger than they once were to account for that... certainly less powerful for the same size as they used to be.. rule of thumb, pack more power into a smaller unit the less stability involved.. take a look at the sun. same laws apply to batteries.. can't get away from the scientific principals involved...
  12. The only reason I would want a battery chainsaw is because I don't like attract attention early in the day.. so using one on a weekend early hrs is why I'd get one.... It'd get used a couple of times a year at the rate of knots I do tree's..
  13. Nothing wrong with looking for a breakthrough.. but I have it on good authority that it ain't gonna happen.. I sub to a scientist called Thunderfoot, he debunks a lot of outlandish claims by other so called scientists.. he did a breakdown of why battery power has reached its limits.. in essence he says you can pack more energy into a battery, but the more in the less stable.. it explains why you have to charge your battery every other day where as a few years back you got a week out the job.. see, the batteries had more power packed in but then again they did tend to blow a hole in ones leg ever so often. They toned em down to make em safer.. the law of thermodynamics comes into play.. explained it pretty well.. left me being able to spout on the subject as I do with a certain amount of confidence.. utube is a great place to learn about science by the way..
  14. If your asking me you should get a stilh or Husky battery chainsaw... I wouldn't stress to much about evolving battery power, from what I've learned online by experts battery power is at its limits. not only is there no breakthroughs happening in regards battery power, there's no chance of any in the future.. You might as well look at the battery size as much as the specs.. bigger battery longer lasting.. simple as that.. smaller the battery lighter the equipment.. I'll be getting a stilh battery saw this season, already got a strimmer.. not too impressed with the strimmer to be honest but I imagine a chainsaw might be of more use..
  15. hit it with a sledgehammer and get a new one...
  16. I wouldn't like to describe myself as an expert but it seems to me you've hit the nail on the head..
  17. Heading towards Bolton? more than likely heading to the motorway.. my experience is the travelers tend to nick from out of town so as not to antagonize the locals... Over the years I've been offered the odd chipper and a bunch of chainsaws.. I wouldn't touch anything like that with a barge pole. If theres one sort of scumbag worse than a thief its a fkr who buys stolen equipment.. the next scum down is the cnt who stores stolen equipment for the thieves.. farmers, warehouse or backyard, all as culpable as the thief... Whats needed is a network of addresses posted online of known people minding stolen equipment.. shame the rotten bstrds.. Perhaps thats a good idea.. a data base of where stolen equipment has been found..
  18. Can't knock that or the sentiments behind it, plus its pretty well said.. well done.. I've condensed all my old beliefs into a word.. just the one.. Truth. that one word for me is like God to you.. If ever you're all at sea and lose your faith, then cling to that word and you wont go far wrong... its the immovable rock in a sea of troubles...
  19. I notice its the women in the gypsy community that are determined to go out their way to defy those that have acted against them.. I'm getting to admire them just a little, well more than a little, they're almost verging on the heroic, pity theres no way to send em a message, a thumbs up, a well done, a keep your chins up girls... I'd also like to send a message to that fella who went live on camera tearing down those flowers shouting "scumbags". I hope he gets run over by a truck, a bus, or better still, a hearse in a hurry.. all the better to go to his funeral shouting scumbag when his cortege pass's by.... what a dick. To the girls defying public outrage
  20. No definitely hiding, and from shadows to boot.. no need to worry about nuclear weapons, never gonna get used... remember I'm an expert on these things.. If I say they ain't gonna be used, they ain't gonna be used.. you can put money on it.. So yea, you spend money on concrete dungeons if you must, I'll keep the money for a booze up..
  21. why your hiding down there, I'll be in the pub havin a pint having a good laugh about you wasting all your money
  22. Well, from where I'm sat I ain't spent any time worrying about Putin launching any missiles.. quite a few seem to be worried. Not me..... see, I know a thing or two about these things...
  23. If he'd phoned me up, I'd of told him what I think, that the chemical attack is more than likely a set up.. still, no matter its as good an excuse as any to rub Putins nose in it.. which is after all the point of the exercise..
  24. Facing down those who think to have their spies come here and poison our citizens or our guests...
  25. I'll face up to our commitments and face that mug down. I wouldn't be crying that it might end in a nuclear holocaust. Cowardice is failing to act on account of being scarred of the consequences.. bravery is standing up for your rights no matter the cost.. This bombing raid on Syria is a shot across the bows of Putin's meddling. his move next, lets see if he has the bottle to act..
