  1. How u doin mate, hope alls well in sunny portugal. I use a petzl croll chest ascender with a footloop. You could use any type of ascender but i personally avoid any with sharp teeth like the kong duck, might have a detremental effect on your rope long term
  2. Ive proved its possible so it could happen again. Anyway we seem to be goin round and round here and clearly will never agree so happy debating to you and enjoy your saturday night.
  3. There have been several instances of poliical parties being elected in receiving less than the opposition because of the 1st past the post system. The most recent was 1951 when the tories lead by Winston Churchill were elected ahead of the labour party under clement attlee when the number of votes cast favoured labour by 230 000.
  4. You do realise Theresa May was an unelected prime minister before the recent election dont you.. So it is again possible that a prime minister is running our nation without being elected. It is also possible with our antiquated system that a prime minister is elected that did not receive the largest share of the vote. Do you think the above scenarios are a true depiction of democracy??
  5. The point of changing things is its a better democratic system in electing a prime minister because we would be voting for a prime minister and local representative seperatly.
  6. Do you really think a great number of people would vote for a conservative prime minister then a labour or lib dem MP ? Most would vote for same party for local and national representation. Perhaps a few might take personal preference at local level into the ballot box but that would be at a miniscual level nationally and after all thats democracy isnt it
  7. Nope...wrong again -voting for your local MP would be a seperate election. And just so were clear i didnt vote labour so your last comment is unwarranted.
  8. Yes i get that... Thanks for your constructive input as always your a pleasure to debate with.
  9. Oh ffs...really?? Here it is as basic as i can describe it ok Take our political system as it is with each party voting in its leader and having a manifesto-all that stays the same. The key difference here is at the ballot box where you vote for the leader of each party and the party/manifesto that they represent not a local MP. Local MP elections would be a seperate vote altogether. I cant put it much simpler
  10. No i dont want a president,i want a voting system where the electorate can vote for a prospective prime minister not a local MP. Obviously each candidate would represent a particular party...i didnt think i would have to explain that..its pretty obvious. I have thoughts on our soveriegn but that a whole different thread
  11. Totally diffrent voting system in that referendum as it was the AV (alternative vote) system that still relied on votes counted on the local prospective MP's in list of preference. My thoughts are to vote for a Prime minister NOT a MP.
  12. Me neither mate, but its time our voting system was overhauled imho. Problem is,a government who polls less than the opposition isnt going to demolish the voting system that got them elected are they.
  13. Do we..? Surley a fairer system would be to vote for the potential prime minister. For example if we had a vote to go to the polls today and the ballot paper had May or Corbyn on it who would win? This would be my idea of a fairer system as its not involving your local MP its about who you want as your prime minister. I didnt vote in the election as my 3 local candidates-labour tory and snp didnt appeal to me,if my ballot paper said may or corbyn id have voted corbyn, not because im a marxist leftie like some on here think we are just simply because he would be,in my opinion,a better prime minister.
  14. Its about seats gained not votes cast
  15. Our electoral system, first past the post,is antiquated. It allows a government to be elected by a democratic process even though the voting statistics would imply that they received less votes than that of the opposing party.. And yes its very confusing..
  16. Interesting use of nazi with left wing as if both are the same thing to you, when im sure you mean an extreme left opinion..just an observation
  17. Political opinion is cyclical,we are seeing a rise in a right wing movement...thing is because if this theres a very high chance of your kids being,as you say- libtards
  18. That 16" bar will bog that little saw down.14 max on that,i know this-ive got a 135 ,unfortunatly!

    261?

They seem to have shed some weight, more plastic parts id say so probably less robust but more ergonomic to use.The havs have come down compared to our older 261's,dunno if the anti vib mounts have been upgraded/improved but thats a move in the right direction. We run 16" bars with full chisel chains and havent had any issues but as i said above its early days
  23. We agree on summit afer all... Dunno if i like that
