  1. Yes...a lot of people are indeed idiots.. Some so much so they should be sterilised to pevent them passing on theyre idiot genes.
  2. Some cardio and weights will burn off the fat and instantly make you look leaner and more muscular. For those bigger guys who are blessed with good genetics will gain pretty quickly but that doesnt mean its easy, they have to train hard and eat properly aswell. There are some great training programs online and if you get bored or feel the training gettin repetative you can mix it up and add in plyometrics or cardio based resistance training to get you a little boost. Ive been doin a little training program just now, only once a week though. You take a weak body part or a muscle/muscle group thats not responding to your current program and focus on it. Its called density training, there are several different ways to do it but ive found going up against the clock is my prefered option. Lets say for talking sake its bench press and you usually press 50kg for 10 reps over 5 sets which would normally take me around 20 minutes approx to complete. In this program you half that weight but double the reps so you press 25 kg for 20 reps in 5 sets but you only have 10 minutes to complete those sets. It challenges your muscles in a different way in which they are used to training and give you a growth spurt in a body part that was previously lagging. Its not for newbies but folks who have been training a while-i fckn luv it!
  3. Training with weights is completely individual, some will benefit most from 3 days training, some 4 or 5 with some twice a day every day(usually bodybuilders) It greatly depends on a whole host of variables, age, body fat, diet, are you carrying injuries, time constraints,do you get a good sleep etc the list could go on and on. Best thing to do is try 3 days a week or every 2nd day if your really keen and just gauge how you feel at the end of a 4 week trial period-you will know if your over doing it as you'll be cream crackered! Put other important protocols in order eg diet.Diet is the number 1 stumblimg block for 95% of gym goers myself included-i like pizza and ice cream, who doesnt, but try to eat as healthy as you can,its pretty simple if you look on youtube etc-there are lots of good quality nutrition plans out there. Dont get into a really tough denial type eating plan as it wont help you recover from your workouts, just be senseable. We all know the kind of foods we shouldnt be eating so just apply common sense but dont be too hard on yourself if you slip now and again-we all do-and life is for enjoying, not just for gyming. Keep us posted how your doin mate
  4. We all gotta start somewhere richard kerp it up and your weights will go up
  5. Stoners??? WTF are you on about... Tell you what you may not be an idiot but you are coming across as being a class one bellend.. Maybe you should know when to wind your neck in
  6. I dont bench press but i bench with dumbells,my PB is 2x45kgs dbells for 8 reps. Im a slow twitch guy so my weights are never gonna be big and impressive. But heres a thought You have 2 guys First guy benches 100kg for 10 reps 2nd guy benches 75kg for 20 reps Whos strongest? Answer is neither of the them Neither one could do what the other did.. Lookin forward to reading about fast twitch guys bench numbers.. Big j--'Id wager you can push some serious weight..
  7. Micks not calling you an idiot,he simpley means your views seem so extreme that they sound idiotic to others who hold different opinions.
  8. Central scotland groundie around 8-10 quid an hour, climbers are around 12-15,with an exceptional few companies offering day rates for subbies 150 mark. Subbing is patchy work though there are some really good cimpanies and some bad-ive walked away from jobs as i got messed about or just blatantly lied too. You will need all your own kit to sub aswell. Ive never taken the forestry route so i couldnt comment on that side of things mate. Local authority climbers are usually well looked after and the work is varied, its where im at and it beats "the real world " hands down.
  9. As above, using the biggest muscles on your body -the legs-is the most ergonomic way to ascend the tree. Here's a link to a youtube video on using a haas on doubled rope. https://youtu.be/vn67glJ_fls
  10. The irony is none of em would let you...
  11. The two examples above are very good for hamstring recruitment. If deadlifting put your toes on little weight plates(2kg ones work for me) and deadlift down to shin level-dont put the weight down. Raising your toes will instantly put more strain on the back on your legs ultimatley recruiting more muscle fibres in your hams and glutes. Its been proven the hams and glutes have more type 2 fast twitch fibres and respond to heavier weight, that doesnt mean to say you can go straight in to heavy weight on these movements. Warm up sets will be required and as with all other exercises good form and slow definate movement patterns must be utilized.Control the weight with a brisk lifting and a slower lowering. Strict form on deads-no back rounding. Keep up the good work stephen You will see the benefits with time and consistency mate
  12. Ct ascender for me aswell. The petzl pantin i had would kick out alot, although the new pantin has a "sold seperatly" little screw on latch to prevent that. On the ct that comes as standard. I got the left foot one cause my homemade haas is on my right leg. My left leg is probably stronger id say...
  13. My wife and i were friends for years till we got pissed one night and had a snog...been together now for 21 years and married for 14! Dont give up silky!
  14. Thats been my gripe with the TM. Hang anything bigger than a 201 on it and it starts too slide down your hips. That and the elastic twanging your arse cheeks gets a bit annoying after a while. Still the best harness ive used though
  15. Break yourself in easy on the calves mate,i once did 20 sets as i thought volume maybe a factor in my non calve development...nah! My calves seized up in the shortened position so i was walking around on my tip toes for 3 days...looked like a fookin t rex!
  16. Are you challenged in the calve department mark? I am and its bloody soul destroying. My quads glutes and hamstrings have all responded well to weight training but my calves have gained very little in comparison. Ive tried heavy weights and low reps, heavy weight high reps, light weight high reps blah blah-ime your either gifted with good calves or your not- im not. If your calves are decent and you fancy building them up stand on the stairs one leg at a time with a dumbell in your hand or go heavy and put weights in a rucksake on your back. Toes striaght forward do calf raises until you burn, turn your toes in do the same turn your toes out do the same. You can do both at the same time if you wish,if you have enough weight to challenge them. I think when it comes to calves its purley find what works for you and go with it.. I havent found mine yet... Good luck mate
  17. Yeah but at least he's stayin alive...
  18. Anyone got any links to videos on limb walk returns and redirects on srt...im struggling a bit with these things. Tia
  19. Hi mate,i had an 8.5 in the airstreams but i found they rubbed my toes when my feet swolle up in the warmer months.I opted for a size 9 in the andrews and theyre great. Im usually an 8.5 or a 9 in other boots, trainers and shoes etc so sometimes getting good boots that fit right can be a pain in the ass! Good luck
  20. That sounds like a killer nutrition plan mate... Have you thought about selling it online? You'd make a fortune...
  21. Trump must have gone golfing again...hence the presidents party story.
  22. 1 By the reports there was alot more than leering. 2 All charities have a set of guidelines to abide by when it comes to donations, and although i do agree with what you say, they couldnt be seen to be accepting donations from an event which has received such negative press coverage. 3 Not like you to play the race card... Oh and im just as red blooded as any other male ie the day i stop lookin is the day i die... My wifes younger sister will vouch for that... Dunno if i should have said that last bit..
