  1. Anyone heard of some guy called bullman on youtube?
  2. Are the gloves better than the trousers..? Seriously its not about what brand of chainsaw gloves its should employers force employees to wear them when they,in my opinion, dont provide any protection when using the chainsaw.
  3. The threads getting slightly derailed here,im not askin what gloves others wear or recommend i wear the question is Anyone think we NEED "chainsaw" gloves considering the safety features on modern chainsaws? Cheers
  4. Hello all, Ive never liked wearing chainsaw cut proof gloves although my employers insist we do. The goat skin leather ones get mega slippery in the wet,not good when your holding a dangerous handtool. In the instance of a derailed chain the rear hand guard and chain catcher prevents injury. In the event of a kickback the chainbrake would protect the hand, also some saws have the inertia safety feature aswell.I really dont see the point in them amymore. Opinions appreciated folks.
  5. Reg coates,august hunicke,jonny quick,soren Satellitt,pascal oosteric(super power patty),bixvid(brian bixler),stihlmad arborist and the climbing arborist. All great chanells
  6. Good luck-remember the force will be with you......always
  7. A shilling a day and a horse **** sandwich...stay in london
  8. I was speaking to my co worker who i sub for sometimes about this thread,he said in the early days of his business he would purposly under quote jobs so he got the work and relied on a good work ethic, and word of mouth from his customers to get him more and profitable work.
  9. Ive just read this entire thread....wow! All i want to say is,everyone has an opinion and a right to voice that opinion in a public forum such as this,BUT some people should think hard about what they are writing before they post a reply because others could interpret it in a way it wasnt meant. Being a dog owner and animal lover myself it appals me that anyone could set out to purposely harm an animal. People make mistakes, god knows no one is perfect and i think gnome just made a poor judgement call..to say hes trolling is a bit OTT imo.
  10. Haha one of our bosses has a range rover and is a tight git but i get what your saying mate,as for the good people of the north west,i couldnt possibley comment on that...(the wifes family are from that neck of the woods)...ahem!
  11. Wouldnt work in scotland mate, were tight arsed up here, the meer mention of a freebie would have them drooling, they would find fault in the job to justify non payment.Ive seen it happen.
  12. Something tells me your gonna be doing a lot of freebies
  13. Could some of your mates in the industry loan you a chipper for a day to save costs of hire ? Maybe hire a skip, usually cheaper per day than a chipper. Perhaps go along with a mate when hes quoting a job to see how he prices a job.
  14. One of the boys at work has one,but after 3 days of dark side of the force, luke i am your father and your powers are weak old man jokes,he retired it. Tbf its rated as a really safe helmet-pity it makes you look like a helmet too.
  15. I meant the HC set up instead of the art positioner or zigzag joe but it turns out he likes the shiney stuff
  16. Depends what you like in a chainsaw strop, slings come in different sizes so you could use whichever length you like. Ive never used a bungee strop so cant comment on them. With the Art positioner ive read good things but never used one.A cheaper alternative is the hitch climber set up.Although tbf you sound like your a kit junkie... Im a bit of a kit junkie too..i like the shiney stuff!
  17. Never used it on 11mm myself but yeah agreed joe
  18. Spot on! although you can run 11mm through the zigzag. I personally wouldnt recommend it,if you take a fall, insurance wont cover you.Just something to consider
  19. Couple of things, why not use an endless sling as a chainsaw strop, very little cost and has a multitude of uses.Lots of options for krabs, dmm do lots of sizes, types etc i like the ovals but its a personal choice. I really dont understand why anyone would get a zillion when you can set up your own lanyard for half the price.Mk3 zigzags are the bollocks but id consider a cambium saver to run your rope through aswell.Safe climbing
  20. Petzl caritool is a great idea but i find the large one gets caught up in branches, smaller ones ok for tools and gear.
  21. Haix do good ground boots, airstreams are good climbing boots but i really dont think they justify the price imo.
  22. Yeah stopper knot at A tie in to B.It can be used in a taught line situation ive read.
