  2. Yeah ive read the thread mate,we know the dangers of tree work,if the guy choses to climb with no rescue climber or insurance cover thats up to him,hes been advised correctly as too the protocols of safe climbing industry best practise etc can we move on please and just answer the guys question....thaaaaank you
  3. Cant help it....i fight injustice where ever i see it...oh and pompous bollocks too:thumbup:
  4. Wow this thread started with a reasonable question and then descended into pompous ranting claptrap. Simple answer mate is tell the old fella to get out of your drop zone or your gonna add 25% on to your price.
  5. Vertex vent and as steve says no visor or ear defenders on it just safety glasses and earplugs, after getting your visor or eardefenders caught up in branches for the 53rd time it gets to be a pain in the ass. As for the protos not worth the money as the ear defenders are not even chipper rated
  6. Surprised no-ones mentioned the spiderjack yet...oh i just did
  7. Not far off the mark at 75-100 quid id say,get them planted asap in a wind sheltered patch if you can steve. They like good soil, slightly to the acidic side of the scale and good compost matter should go in first. The purple ones like the sun as it helps the plant promote is beautiful purple colour. Avoid planting in wet areas or in a crowded shrub area as they have short fibrous root systems and cannot tolerate competition from other plants. Crackers mate,if i was down your way id take them off your hands
  8. I wear Hiax boots when doing gardening work, great comfy boots..but pricey
  9. Yeah trust mick to get his tuppence worth in haha.
  10. As its says August Hunicke interviewing Gerry Baranek part 2 on youtube. If you havent seen part one then do so.Very interesting too hear the views of this legend of the Arb world. Cant do those link things so go on to youtube and type in Baranek part 2. Or Baranek part 1
  11. Ive got both and 8 times out of ten i use the hitch climber, zigzag is great(as ive said before) but i just prefer a knot in my fingers. Horses for courses and all that
  12. I went through lots of hitches and hitch cord combinations to find my perfect combination which is 75cm liros cord tied in a knut hitch run on 11.7 tachyon with a dmm triple attachment pulley. I really love it
  13. For me the hitch climber is the one i go too most but i use the zigzag when im in bigger trees so can zip around the tree without glazing my hitch cord, the zigzag is very smooth aswell. Both are great but if i had too choose it would be the hitch climber, when the zigzag fractures or fails a loler it'll be 120 notes to replace, where as the hitch climber is 10quid to replace hitch cord and away you go again. Im just a tight arse to be honest
  14. Go on youtube look up climbing arborist for lots of knots and great tips on hitches and on basic climbing systems.
  15. The green one is new england tachyon, looks like 11.5/7 mm, hard to see what the blue one was in the video.
  16. Great vid and soundtrack, really good to see the traverse hook in action, thanks for the above pictures too very helpful for guys like me.
  17. If your going to get hot and bothered with every tree you see thats not pruned to your standards....your gonna be pissed off...a lot. Theres **** tree work everywhere and most TO's are too busy to give much of a toss, dont cry over spilt milk and all that
  18. Pretty crappy thing to happen too anyone, theuvin scumbag...but beggars the question why leave all tour kit in the car in the 1st place.
  19. Thats got to be an asian shop then, exact same here. No communication just give us the cash
  20. The wife used too work in retail as a shop manager, the stories she told me about how bloody rude some people are was really shocking.Plus the usual having to deal with the theiving swines.Im glad shes not in that enviroment anymore. Some people can be very rude to serving staff
  21. Does the frame have a liner at the bottom to stop the arse ripping out of it
  22. Do yourself a favour mate...dont go there. Anyone who promotes Trump is clearly no understanding of what that racist bigot is capable of....madness
