  1. Or you could just buy a chip truck and chipper.....
  2. Bad news Andrew, as you know I'm from your neck of the woods. Good luck rebuilding.
  3. Jomo. You always remind me off Roger Irrelevant. Wibble To answer the OP. People are more aspirational. They want stuff, not having the stuff that they're friends/family have is lame. Add in the rise of the working woman, who can earn as much as the man and is no longer content with just being a housewife. These aren't the definitive answers, just factors IMO.
  4. It's too high. Imagine feeding brush ito that all day!
  5. I think there was a thread about this before, there was lots of issues around height of feed tray, and dragging all that weight on the bed around for quoting etc. Necessitating yet another vehicle. It was an interesting idea, but creates as many problems (if not more) than it solves.
  6. In my early days working for bigger firms, forgetting the rizlas was lettting the side down.
  7. I have one, I won't sell it, but understand why you want another one. A classic saw.
  8. Ha ha! It's not the worst idea in the world.
  9. So what's the difference between a hire saw and a demo saw? A name presumably. 3 x 6.5 hours days flat out makes that a used saw. Like the man said a couple of cookies at best. Then get your cheque book out.
  10. I'll say one more thing because you seem to have already made up your mind. Get a tape measure and work out the cubic capacity of your transit, then do the same on a 110/130, then think long and hard.
  11. I had a 130 tipper, they're rubbish chip trucks, I put a weighed 1.25 tonne of topsoil on one time, it was practically undriveable, like a boat. "Are they a viable chip truck?" In my opinion, NO.
  12. Jimmy, I just don't think it would work. They'd be endless wrangles about who broke what, or whether it was their fault.
  13. As long as the wind is in the right direction not too bad, I won't get up them in a decent blow mind. Battery saw brilliant up those trees. What's the guy beneath you doing? What's the thinking there?
  14. On the odd occasion I pop back to the old town I see some (what I consider to be) excellent work on the many oaks owned by the council.
  15. These two photos are of Depot Road in Horsham. The B/W is from the 50s, the other one google street view. The allotments on the left are still there and in the same place The two oaks on the right correspond with the modern day pics, they have survived multiple reductions over the years, plus all the disturbance. Thought it was interesting.
  16. What do you want? A hand around your shoulder? Some Facebook style moral support or the truth?
  17. You'll never make a living as a self employed groundie.
  18. What's your experience, Age, Qualifications, equipment etc? So many variables.
  19. Sweet, your lower back thanks you!
  20. AFAIK Saturn machine knives and Northern arb are the same company. Saturn do the blades, grinder teeth etc, NAS do the arb stuff. No big deal.
