  1. Mick Dempsey

    Burning

    Dry wood and a blower.
  2. I doubt if they can be hired without an operator,
  3. Good option, still got 80 stumps to dispose of though!
  4. Bigger is always better. You will regret doing this manually though.
  5. Got it on my grinder Swinny, sounds like a Ducati!
  6. Get a grinder in but 1200 is a bit steep. Any grinder with 25hp or above could do 80x8" dia leylandii in a day easily. They are fairly shallow rooted and a tirfor will get them out fairly easily, but doing 50 will be gutty.
  7. Nicely done, could I ask how much the new engine cost? Briggs and Stratton or Kohler?
  8. The Chinese bought the name.
  9. Can't see any future for that tree. Most weeping willows left to their own devices will break up fairly quickly. Bit of judicious topping would have saved that tree.
  10. "Locked into a cycle of continual management of any regrowth" Like cutting a hedge for instance?
  11. I hate when people say "I'm not really a morning person" As though it's an actual medical condition as opposed to just being lazy and rude.
  12. I'm always one for an opinion but in this case (bearing in mind their situation) I reckon a proper inspection by a qualified sort is the only option.
  13. How busy is the road? What are the crowns like?
  14. Better coming from you than me Bob.
  15. I think if you said to a boss "I don't feel comfortable climbing this tree" you'd look (and sound) like an idiot. Just be honest and say. "its dangerous, stuff that"
  16. Ironically I'm sitting here on my own watching rugby/football whilst being metaphorically firmly in the doghouse. It turns out that "not really" is NOT the correct answer to the question "do you want to come and see La La Land Saturday at the cinema with me?" Live and learn.
  17. Mebees Paul. Reminds me of the lyrics of the Bruce Springsteen song Hungry Heart. Don't make no difference what nobody says, Ain't nobody like to be alone.
  18. Maybe give it a go Paul. "In desperate times Tinder saves the day"
  19. Broadening the debate..... Many people meet through dating sites, it doesn't have the desperation stigma anymore. Beats trying to talk to some bird in a night club.
  20. If I was single I would be, seems like a great way to meet women.

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
