  1. I tell you what, tomorrow morning I’ll do a couple of photos to show you how it works.
  2. No, the climber has control from the beginning.
  3. Steering the branch with two hands towards the chipper.
  4. During football training on a Tuesday night (early nineties) at the playing fields in Rudgwick there was a fox that used to sit behind the goals and chase the footballs when we missed the target (it got a lot of exercise) I watched the same animal playing with a Labrador that it knew. At that time the rabbits were so plentiful that it had a lot of free time on its hands/paws.
  5. Looks good. Its got two chances as my old boss used to say.
  6. I’ve heard laburnum as well, but could be nonsense.
  7. Used as a shade tree here in paddocks, plenty of horses in the fields with walnuts, never heard of them being poisoned.
  8. Ha ha! Show me the money, spoon whittler.
  9. Last night I heard a noise in my garage, I went in there, thinking it was thieves but I found a winged horse, it was obviously in pain because the smarties it was farting out it’s rear end were all red rather than the usual ? rainbow. Anyway I nursed it back to health overnight and to thank me we went on a wonderful ride through the skies where I saw a snowman (or something) A bit later it had some foals and brought them round my house to show me to thank me (or something)
  10. I burn it on my wood burner, I’m still alive.
  11. Ok, that’s 60kg more than a grapple. Not insignificant.
  12. Well, I’m not saying there wasn’t evidence of our passing! One turf tyre did develop a puncture, whether that was due to pressure or something else I don’t know. I don’t think it has the same reinforcement in the sidewalls, willing to be corrected though. The turf tyres are for use with a mower/flail etc. I’d be interested to hear what your research brings. The grapple (with rotator or otherwise) and heel is the absolute business for arb, being both the mutts nuts and the cat's pajamas, which is quite a feat. It’s only half the machine without it.
  13. Yeah, of course, on a big technical dismantle you’d break out the stuff, nobody says otherwise.
  14. The rotator was no good because of the lack of ‘heel’ put one of those on and you can load and push. The timber grab is really for stacks of regular size wood, not much use for Arb. As for the tyres, check the load bearing capabilities, I don’t think the grass tyres take as much as the industrial ag ones, which don’t cut up the ground as much as you’d think and give much better traction. I ended up switching back from turf to ag. Get the biggest machine you can afford (or even not quite afford) one year down the line you won’t regret it. Nice job btw.
  15. To use cricket terminology... You cannot set a field for bad bowling. If the rope gets fooked, no big deal, it’s cheap enough.
  16. Fast descents are modern thing, everything must “run” for the cameras ?
  17. He was doing it slowly to illustrate how it was done. When you do a lot of natural crotch rigging (especially using stubs to self lower) there’s nothing quicker.
  18. Yes it does (depend on the situation) Quite right.
  19. How is it quicker? And what constitutes “proper gear” A retired climbing line has a more than adequate breaking strain for all but the biggest stuff.
  20. Is that likely to happen to you soon? (asking for a friend)
  21. Well no reply from Stef. something is up.
  22. Wjh What’s your take on heave Gary? Ever seen it?
