Well, I dunno, what did they think it was, just a cab and chassis? Just because one bloke at the end of a telephone says that a few years ago doesn’t mean it’s right.

Perhaps, but no LR came out of the factory with ‘tipper’ on the log book. Plus they handle like a pissed up rhino with any chip on (but that’s a different argument)

I’m sure people will say otherwise, but if you’re not building outside of the existing dimensions, then I’d crack on. I don’t know of anyone who’s informed their insurers. Gardeners use cage sides for grass cuttings/leaves, bet they don’t tell their insurers.

Just to be clear, you’re buying a tipper and building a chip box on the tipping bed. I don’t think you need to tell them about that.

Besides, tree officers don’t just slap on TPOs cos someone wants one. (Afaik) I reckon they have enough paperwork without that sort of thing. There has to be a reason, you know, amenity value, rare specimen, to annoy developers etc. -

Sorry to read this @roboted I however have better news, my wife has the right hump because I wouldn’t go upstairs to remove the shower head in preparation for soaking in vinegar to remove the calcaire.
