  1. Went back to TW, got a 230. Best chipper pound for pound I’ve ever had, everyday it amazes me.
  2. Not doable, they’re only accessible under the machine, after taking off a protective plate, not visible only ‘feelable’
  3. It’s not a new machine, far from it. 99% of slews get regular grease and work without any issues for years. But yes, thread lock during assembly would have been better. It doesn’t seem to be a super robust design to be honest, bolts too short, would have better if they’d come through the slew to nuts accessible and visible for the operator/owner.
  4. See a good few Försts over here now. Very proactive selling and marketing.
  5. Tbf, no one could have foreseen this.
  6. They’re coming from the UK.
  7. Just came undone, we found 8 of the 12, the rest must have been lost over time. The slew seems undamaged.
  8. Looks good Dave. Our day was less successful. Halfway through the grinding the engine and cutter head separated from the slew! All 12 bolts undone. Trouble is they’re Yankee threads, so I have got to order them. Fingers crossed it should be simple enough to rebuild, we’ve stripped it in preparation.
  9. Add another one to your list.
  10. Wow! escapee?
  11. Terrific gif Les, always a favourite. Easy finish to the week, grinding and a bit of polesaw work at an old clients. Next week is the last working week of the year, so time to take stock, review and try and work out what next year will bring. Have a good Friday everyone.
  12. Wordle 1,637 4/6 🟨⬜🟩🟨⬜ 🟨⬜🟩⬜⬜ 🟨🟩🟩⬜🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  13. TBH, I’ve rarely been happy with my efforts, it’s hit and miss if I get it at least as good as out the box. I tend to throw a new one on long before it’s due, exasperated with poor cutting.
  14. Wordle 1,636 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜🟨⬜ ⬜🟨🟨🟩⬜ ⬜⬜🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  15. Species dependent really, plus if there’s a through draft etc.
  16. Yes every time I tried a new way/body part to press the levers I’d skew it sideways and both lose momentum and scare motorists.
  17. Splitting now means it’ll season better/quicker.
  18. I remember tracking an Arboreater up a motorway hard shoulder to the next site, maybe half a mile, took the whole of lunchtime, plus fingers were freezing so kept trying to find a way of just leaning against the levers. Did maybe 1.5 miles per hour. Yes, get a new chipper I reckon.
  19. No expert of course, but looks a lot like honey fungus. Previosly topped lombardies are usually rotten and hollow after a short while anyway.
  20. Wordle 1,635 6/6 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜⬜🟩 ⬜🟩🟩⬜🟩 ⬜🟩🟩⬜🟩 ⬜🟩🟩⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  21. Heavy rain all morning. Already call it off. If you’re going out there in this, bravo.
  22. I’ve got a bridge you might like to buy.
  23. Funny how underwhelming everyone is about Lando Norris winning the F1 championship. His super rich dad writing the cheques for a lot of his career seems to leave people a bit cold. Compared to Lewis Hamilton who came from very little, which seems to make him more interesting. I wonder if he’ll show a bit of personality in the future and gain some news coverage. The management of F1 will certainly hope so.
  24. It’s kind of my thing.
  25. It’s ‘aerial’ rescue btw.
