  1. Heres my 2 penneth.... https://www.agrieuro.fr/broyeur-de-branches-thermique-geotech-pcs140bse-moteur-essence-14-cv-dem-electrique-p-9602.html If I was going to go all el cheapo, this is clone I would go for.
  2. could always ask for a 'bouchon de bout'
  3. if the valve clearances are off and you add a starter you'll likely just shear the shaft.
  4. I also have a cheapo version, does what it says on the tin
  5. How long have chipper manufacturers had a seat at the table of the HSE? I wonder if I buy a new machine, how long it will comply before new regs render it obsolete....
  6. I think its like 'cult' films, you never hear about them because they are decidedly mediocre to all except their groupies.
  7. Ive several pictures lurking around of myself stood under those exact trees. Really Impressive specimens, and a lovely town too. Fell in love with the Jacarandas whilst out there.

  9. Good women are like good parking spaces......
  10. I would say the quality of leads you get via a website is much higher than those coming from FB. They have to have searched for your specific service and are therefore much more serious about having the work undertaken, and less likely to be tyre kickers....
  11. No shooting down on my part, grateful for all the suggestions.
  12. Ive tried other chains, did think it might be that. off to dealer for replacement?
  13. Any thoughts on the issue in that case?
  14. Recently my husky 365 has been unusable due to lack of power, I first thought it was a dull chain, sharpened it and it starts the cut like a cat out of hell, but quickly loses power. similarly when I started a bore-cut recently it cut fine whilst only using the tip of the bar, but as soon as it had to cut along the bar length it lost all power. I'm of the opinion its a carb issue...which screws should i fiddle with in order to remedy the problem?
  15. I just take it as chestnut is sweet unless otherwise stated, didn't occur to me that others might do the reverse
  16. The wood has Sweet not horse
  17. Cheers for the help so far. I'm pretty sure it was planted as a firewood crop for the house. Or to bump up wooded areas on the old farm for tax purposes! As you can see from the photo its pretty close to the house, so it would mainly be a little firewood helper and a side project. my rough maths works it out as around 65 trees. Can i coppice randomly or does it have to be in blocks?

  19. Courtesy of Jeff Jepson..... Sorry about the quality
  20. Evening All, I'm lucky enough to be in the process of buying a house and outbuildings in my small corner of France. Luckier still there is around half an acre of chestnut plantation, current average DBH of around 15-20cms. Spaced 4 metres apart with 5 metres between rows. Questions: 1. Are these stems too big to effectively coppice? 2. Which other firewood/native species can I inter-plant? (which will tolerate the shade of the canopy, which is currently pretty full, but which will be broken a little by the first round of thinning/coppicing?) I'm aiming basically to turn this regimented mono culture into a firewood producing, wildlife/ dog walking area.
  21. Basically i learnt that you have faces.....
  22. @Ty Korrigan will have some views...
