  1. Thanks Simon I appreciate your comments very much, I will try and add that texture today and a little blow torch work before oiling

I carved this today, i was asked to carve a Husky face ...... not attempted one before, this one is oversized in an attempt to make it easier for myself. the pic shows the head before any burning, just chainsaw and sandoflex, eye burning tool from 'Norfolkngood' passers by seemed to like it but they are easily pleased burning and oil tomorrow. Standing back and looking theres an option for a wolfes head

  8. Thank you, Yes i have used marbles in the past, i may give it a go again but there are carvers on here that put the eyes in.... i will keep practising
  9. Finished this carving off today for a customer, again i ended up putting paint on the eyes. I need help carving eyes and not just burning them in i thnk:001_rolleyes:

  11. Thanks Dan, the heads a little out of proportion but that was due to my limited availability of wood.If you want a similar Giraffe to this one then let me know, i will carve you one.

  13. I was asked to carve a young Giraffe for a customer, never done one before, this one stands at 4ft 6ins.........just need to oil it now and see what they think:sneaky2:

  17. Had a go at a wizard this weekend, a short version of a larger piece I want to carve.
  18. It's cool Russ, I guarantee it will sell as it has the cheeky features of a cunningly cunning fox
  19. Simon, I welded a 4 inch self tapping bolt to mine. I put a 3 inch sacrifice board with a hole in the middle over it. I then drill the underside of the log and then screw it onto to the remaining 2 ins of bolt. It works for me ......

  25. Very niece piece indeed I edit my pics first and reduce the image size down to 600x 800 and then upload, that seems to work at my end.
