    Thanks Jomoco, it was a piece of Larch, the carving has just had a coat of Tung Oil before the pic was taken

    Carved a Hippo today, the recipient now wants the same only bigger, much bigger, the size of a bench so two people can sit on its back.....

    Theres so many valid points here based on experience, i whole hardheartedly agree as i have gone through the same myself, no, i am going through the same process myself reaching less and less for the power tools, this should be a thread on its own:001_smile:

    Carved this Husky Head today in readiness for a relatives Christmas present, needs a bit of oil and then i will leave it as it is i think. I know, what a cheap skate not buying them a present instead

    Carved this Dragons Head, Tail and single Claw today, the customer had a limited budget so i tried to carve something to suit. The more i look at it, the more i see the devil in it
