  1. RRP is currently £22,650 with a 3% increase in March. The £20,530 on the EVO 165 45HP is fixed until engine supply runs out.
  2. Having those three machines side by side, an EVO 165 26hp, EVO 165 45hp and Arborist 200 the EVO 45 has a quicker throughput on 5-6” material than the Arb 200 due to the awesome new flywheel design, new feed roller positioning (EVO feed rollers sit at 9 o’clock whereas the Arb range sit at 6 o’clock) and it also recycles the chip less. Getting the old chipped material out quicker means being able to get the new material in quicker. If you are after a 6.5” heavyweight machine, say Forst ST6 or similar you can now get a 45hp turbo version of the EVO 165! While stocks last....

  4. When you say it seems to have no compression, what has brought you to thinking that? Is it a pull start?
  5. Just watch out for the famous K series head gasket issues if going for an older Freelander petrol...

  7. No doubt electric chippers will come, with that motor, battery pack, wiring etc etc you would be adding some serious costing to a 6" chipper. Manufactures have enough on their plates at the moment, bringing new models out, re designing existing models to meet new legislations etc let alone building an electric one for a market that currently isn't there (TP have proved that with the 175E) Driving around most of the day in a diesel polluting transit then using an electric chipper for 1-2 hours of said day does seem a little backwards... The next 5 years will be interesting though with innovation. The Dyson project being abandoned and not picked up by a major manufacture shows something I feel and definitely is a global set back. The Arb / Groundcare industry is generally 10 years behind the automotive and Ag industry.

  10. It should not be doing that. Looking at your photo the purchase was a second hand unit. Where are you located? First things to check. Air filter, is it blocked causing the engine to be running lean? Exhaust silencer itself blocked up? Are fumes exiting as you would expect? What spark plugs are fitted? is it over fuelling and running too rich? Any smoke?

  18. I expect farmers don't believe a 1900cc engine can be up to the job. Hill starts in my old 2.5 with a SafeTrak on the back was hard work. But then its no better in my Puma Defender.
  19. Sounds a worthy contact. What do they trade as? Is that their main business manufacturing blades, teeth and such like?
  20. Had a Trooper back in the day, then a Rodeo then two D-Max and experienced nothing but reliability in all of them. Isuzu would be my go to pick up. Not had 1.9 but we have customers running them. Recon it goes and tows better than the 2.5 with decent gear ratios to match.
  21. Is that a proper business that's turning them out? As for £12 the cost of materials, machinery and the guys time he cannot make any money. Or is it more of a cash in hand, beer tokens for an employed guy?

  23. Really what you need to do is if your engine is still running now is measure the RPM of the drum now and again once you've fitted a new engine. Going for the same size pulley is a starting point, but if the new engine revs 500rpm more than the old engine the machine might fancy self destructing...
  24. We know quite a few larger scale contractors with little run around "quote" vans. The only brand new vehicle I had was working for my previous employer (the previous GreenMech dealer) and It was a Isuzu D-Max. Did 100k in 2.5 years and not one single issue. Now its my business we buy nearly new. For example our Transit Custom was 6 months old with 10k from a contract hire company my parts guy has known for donkeys years in Bristol. Still had 2.5 years manufactures warranty and to be honest it looked brand new still yet saved us a few grand. Apart from the drivers window packing up its been spot on. Now has 55k on or something. Previously had a 2015 Vauxhall Vivaro, we had many issues with that under the 4 year warranty, the Vauxhall van dealership we were dealing with were assholes. Would never buy a Vauxhall Van again based on the local dealerships service.
