  1. Agree mostly but if I’m buying new I still want a dealer that i know will answer the phone in six months time otherwise just buy second hand and take a chance.
  2. I’d go sv26 if you have a dealer near who can supply what you want. I’ve gone to doosan dx27 from yanmar and it’s very poor. Power, geometry, cab etc just not as good. Wish I’d demo’d One for a week first. When I was looking sv26 with two proportional lines was £25ish there was also new one on eBay for £22k picture had twin lines but dealer couldn’t guarantee it would be the same machine, the yanmar network seams very haphazard (certainly up here) and this may be reflected in price . Kobelco do same machine but £5k more for blue paint job but I think much better dealer network.
  3. Bit dear for me John, thought they were about that new but thanks anyway
  4. How much is he wanting for it?
  5. What machine has he had it on john?
  6. Possibly. Good point. I’ll have to have a look at some diagrams or manuals
  7. Handbrake isn’t on the pads, separate shoes which are fine.Discs are fine too. Maybe it’s just compound of pads I’ve had
  8. As above, what are you using and happy with? Want good performance and to last a while if poss. Only done about 25,000 in the Range and it’s needing third set of rear pads soon. Put genuine on first time got 15,000, second set ebc yellow stuff may last 11,000 miles. Always towing to max with digger or loader on but very steady and smooth. Tyres will do 50,000 plus. Haven’t done front pads in past 25,000, probably half way down. First thing I’ve done a lot of towing with that’s disc brakes on the rear so maybe the above is normal? I’d be doing shoes more than 60,000 previously.
  9. Ifor is definitely the better trailer, bloody handy with cage sides too
  10. I’ve got a 16x6 beaver tail indespension with loading ramp, sides and headboard that’ll be going up on eBay shortly. Good trailer but needs a bit of tinkering now. A few boards replaced or repaired, brakes adjusted and a bulb or two. Had it past 4 years and never failed me but tend to use small new plant trailer all the time now. I’d be wanting £1200. was council owned before me so been little used till I got it!
  11. Getting it too and from site, maintenance, insurance, diesel, operator wages and training, lower inspections etc must work out about the same or more than £2k as you’ll save in wages if it’s only doing the odd job. Looks an awesome bit of kit but I’d leave it to the specialists.
  12. Amen brother!
  13. Horsey folk certainly are the fencers best friend for all the previous reasons. Ht wire electrified definitely best, cheapest and last forever on good posts, but post and rail what most want, pay for and replace happily enough for which I’m grateful and sure the sawmills are too!
  14. ???? good man Saul
  15. 4000?
  16. If he’s offered to do it I’d buy the kit and plenty of beer/wine/whatever his fancy is! Never know the tools may be available 2nd hand on eBay and you could punt them on and not loose much? Amazed at the £3k to do it, dealers just want to push you into a new one all the time, it couldn’t possibly be 20hrs + work for a ‘technician’ with all the kit and experience they have. As previously mentioned though I’d be interested in it for parts or I’ll take some bits if you break it.
  17. No tyre kickers here, whereabouts in the country is it? I’m after a few bits but may take the whole thing minus the wheels if it’s available
  18. Madness! Can’t you drop another engine in? How much do you want for it if it’s going for spares?
  19. Awesome sprinters, ear plugs over 20mph though I bet!
  20. Identical but another £4k. And nearest dealer to me is opposite side of country in Carlisle. Molson offered a good deal on one though but in the end thought it too far away for a little machine.
  21. When I was looking the yanmar importer had lost or not renewed the contract so no new build machines available only ex stock in uk and no guarantee of who would be supporting warranty etc going forward. I’m sure it’s all sorted now but just sounded a bit dodgy for me and my hard earned! Shame as really miss my old yanmar and the new ones were cheap as chips but for the above reason I guess.
  22. Wish I’d gone for the yanmar conventional, just didn’t like the idea of potential zero after sale support.
  23. Yeah, salesman said they were the same machine, hydraulic and cab changes on the new bobcat and doosan made in same factory but bobcat come first then new doosan coming later. More money in white!
  24. Bobcat e26 so 2. 6 ton, nice as can still tow it around Thought it looked like it. Quite fancied one when I bought my doosan last year but there was a long wait to get one. Did you get four aux lines from manufacturer? That’s what had me looking at them. Is it stable? Went to zero tail from conventional and found a big difference even though weight charts are similar.
  25. What carrier size is that? Looks great, very compact.
