  1. Nice work mick ! Has it been quite in February for u
  2. Snowy Sheffield hill tops for me today very slimy sycamore rigged allot dropped a bit felled the stem between walls and graves
  3. I have to differ with you there mick there isn't a never ending supply of decent ones there is allot of ones that have just started out and fancy them selves as a subi climber! I do both run my business and do subi climbing out of choice I find climbing for other companies a bit of a break from the stress of staff and customers and all other stuff that comes with my own work ! I am no cheap as a subi or willing to be messed about but the companies I work for no that I am flexible if I can be to help them and like wise i would expect them to offer that in return if they think u are just a employee that they don't have to give holidays to and can just let u down when they have booked u in then I would move on ! but u need confidence in your skills and what u are offering plenty of pretenders unfortunately
  4. Sorry for the shaky cam was first day with a helmet cam
  5. Even better it was a just put it on the floor job for me [emoji7]
  6. Few reasons really there is space in the scabbard for two saws so need for re fuelling one cuts faster but the other seems to handle bigger diameter cuts better so I use which suites the cut better and last but not least cos I can [emoji7]
  7. Been at home farm off emmerdale today ivy covered ash over roof and Aspen pop with ivy over the drive and house been raining and very windy all day
  8. I tave a few different configurations for different things mostly on dead eyes either single or double rings I'll try take some pictures of my favourite
  9. This has been discussed time and again there are so many videos on rings there applications and limitations rings all the way for me beast rings usually and smaller ones for re directs if am lifting in the tree I use pulleys if am re directing on the ground to pull or lift I use pulleys!
  10. Hi Stephen I have suffered with on off terrible back pain for years ! I use a Dreams maitland pocket sprung not that expensive but seems good after changing from mega expensive one that was supposed to be good for my back issues it just aggravated it !
  11. It would of never fitted through the gap we had through the other tress plus the back limbs were so over extended they could broken off and fallen in the tops of other trees which would have created more work the limb that was grown round the sycmore stem had some real weight in it cutting the tree out from under it without taking any end weight off the limb would of been silly the wind and lack of decent escape route and a few tasty window makers in the top of the pop made for a not very enjoyable experience felling it
  12. Windy rotten popular heavy back lean over road
  13. He was away from home like me so did not have saw with him unfortunately
  14. Well said mate I'm no slender bell ringer but I still seem to get the work done faster than most that's no self compliment it's a fact nearly 40 years old 22 years in tree work body is ruined but my experiences help me save energy in the tree allot of people are far to unnecessarily busy in the tree in their early years climbing!
  15. I've seen allot of very incompetent ground based saw men trust me [emoji849][emoji107]
  16. Been in Germany all week wear I worked with guy that's been using the new t540i xp top handle he said it's a game changer so much more capable than all the other electric top handles unfortunately I didn't get a go !
  17. Yea even the worst jobs are easy with the right kit [emoji4]
  18. Dead spruce over a phone wire main road and covered in Ivey!
