  1. I use a 10'' by 2'' 10ft long peice of timber with my vertical milling rail on one side and various wedges and various scew's.
  2. Had a nice few weekends milling 800 ft of 1.1/4 larch for cladding. 12 stems all about 12ft long and 17 inch dia. it's been a nice change from milling large dia oak.

  4. Buxton do trade waste but they charge you per ton over the weighbridge
  5. I think the waste site at Buxton has a green waste processing plant.
  6. Does An eight tooth sprocket increase the chain speed.?
  7. 3120 is still working just needed a second saw.
  8. Bought new milling saw this week first day out today nice saw to work seems well built particular like the air filter construction. Mills at about the same pace as my husqvarna 3120 at about one ft per minute milling 40 inch wide oak. Was hoping that it would be a bit quicker than the 3120.
  9. Their is two nice butts up for sale in Hove on ebay.
  10. I mill through and through and found that I to got a bend in my beams always on the end the mill exists from,when using one end as the start point. So I now work my log from both ends and always start my next cut from the end I exit from. this seams to work for me, and keeps the beams straight.
  11. I am in need of some milling timber, does any body know off suppliers off timber in the Derbyshire area.
  12. May be water in the diesel and it's foamed as it has been pumped around under pressure.empty tank and start again.

  14. I would cut and mill the stem as long as possible and then evaluate the slab and cut to length,I personally like a finished slab at around the eight to nine ft mark.
  15. It was in a farmers field dead for around 20 years from what I can gather. the top and the bottom of the log I always give to,two local turners and I can now say I have a bowl for every tree I have milled

  17. Some elm I milled today from a tree that had stood dead for some years.
  18. Looking back at my experience they do not ask any questions about what you are selling and you would expect quite a lot regarding your item.
  19. I had the same scam.eventually they send you a fake pay pall page confirming they have payed.looking at my pay pall nothing their so phoned pay pall and it was confirmed as a scam.
