  1. i use mine for cutting xmas trees can do 2000 a day,fast light and dont mind getting wet(the saw i mean)jake

    i think i have a heated front handle and a side cover too as well as other bits in shed .could be your lucky day..jake

    i was thinking 20 quid,as its old and well ued like its owner if you are not far away come over and have a look,might have other 254 bits in shed too .as its going to a good home wont be sad to lose it

    it starts and runs ,bearings and carb a bit worn(well uesd)frame complete.i use it as a back up saw at chipper (for numptie laddies to use) chain brake good and handles good.was going to restore it but bought a 357 instead.

  8. the gb oil comes in a white drum and there is never any sediment in the bottom if the drum.oregon is in a black drum and its impossible to tell whats in the bottom untill you pour it into a clear jug.not sure how good it is for poil pump a=nd bar .yes it does seem thinner almost like suto.
  9. has anyone noticed that oregon super chain oil looks dirty. i have been using a different brand for a while and that was always clean,yesterday i bought a drum of oregon oil and my first reaction was its old engine oil .never used to be near black.and the sludge in the bottom of the drum made me wonder.are they using reclaimed oil in the manufacture?at £40 a drum i hope not .will be going back to gb oils chain oil from now on.dissapointed as always regarded oregon as a quality brand.jake

  17. there is an on line auction for arb kit up in fife lots of good kit if interested.go to sweeney kincaid industrial auctions and have a look .there are no reserves so good luck.this is a proper auction:thumbup: house so no worries bidding etc but read sale terms before bidding .good luck.jake

  20. jap is like balsa wood and does not last in fire ,yes easy to work but not good value to sell

  22. 365 all day every day .bomb proof and great for crosscutting firewood up to 24 inch. i use it for felling small timber too and then brash out with 357.jake

    good price for scrap at the moment .just bin it and buy some wedges with the loot:thumbup:
  24. i use the litre oregon oil bottles (with handle)and clip to my belt ,,,great for brashing work with chainsaw.carry 2 litres of mix and one of oil gives me 5 tankfull on the saw before i need to return to combi can.and free as you will use the oil anyway..jake:thumbup:
  25. you can have the leaves .i will take the butt.. whee is it anyway ?too far for tractor and botex?.ask him if there is good access to it jake:thumbup:
