  1. Only just back to work after the very same thing happened to me... Busted metatarsal and crush damage to the surrounding tissue. It's taken 4 months to heal completely. Airstreams as well.. hate to think how bad it would have been with lesser boots on....

  3. This Christmas I splashed out and bought the Mrs a new bag and a belt., The hoover works much better now...
  4. Rather than have multiple groundies working at the foot of the tree, I usually only have one there organising the flow of brash from the drop zone and one of his main duties is managing the end of my line. All of our groundies have been shown this video and are aware of the potential for this to happen. I always try to talk the whole team through what I'm going to be doing in the tree, how and why. It helps the crew work efficiently as a team and everyone has a good awareness what is going to happen and of where the potential risks are. This video is possibly one of the most effective visual aids to a safety/toolbox talk I have ever seen. Stay safe. 👍

  8. Love all of the different jobs I do... Tree work. Public relations work, rehab type work. Charity fundraising and business development. Despite the fact it can be hard work, physically and mentally demanding, I wouldn't want to swap it with anything else.

  18. Happy new year Paul!! Hope yours is a good one... looks like you've got the dream job there working with that crew and all that kit. 👍👍
  19. I remember zip-lining one a similar size to that straight over the shed. Very similar job. When I got down to the bottom of the stem I discovered to my horror that there was only about an inch-inch and a half of sound wood around the base. The middle of it was like wet red cheese. It made me realise they are stronger than we think. I would never do it again though! I would say block the top down but make sure your groundie lets it run. Cut n chuck what you can. It's hard to say without seeing the tree though. Happy new year to you. Stay safe!
  20. Happy new year to you all from me and Lynne! 👍🌟🌟👍
