  1. Hey Khriss . Like Eggs has said it’s a hire boat so apart from the pics on the brochure we haven’t seen it. We’ve booked for a week early in September. We were lucky to get it as so many people are doing ‘staycations’ this year.
  2. No rush, sounds like the perfect holiday.
  3. Not many locks apparently... going to be starting at Breward heading north. First time so probably won’t go that far.. maybe Market Drayton and back. Depends how much progress we can make without spending all the time at the tiller. Will definitely post some pics.
  4. Going in a fortnight Eggs.... on the Shroppie
  5. I’ve got the Vertex Vent and have to adjust it right down as small as it will go. Must have a small head.. think I must have tried every hat going except the Protos
  6. [emoji51] we should have a weight system, rule book that is actually in ‘sync’ with true manufacturers capabilities of trucks. We have a Luton truck that is only good for transporting feathers or light foam when filled to capacity. Couple of bits of furniture and it goes way over.
  7. I wouldn’t be surprised given the technology available today. The depot in question is ‘hidden’ under the M5 J3 multi-agency, plod, HMRC and DVSA. Busy place...
  8. £380 fine, no points on the drivers licence, thankfully.. and the added cost/ time of pulling a crew off another job to go and collect the excess weight from the pulled truck.
  9. That is impressive... I could live with the bone-shaking cramped-ness for that kind of payload on a 3.5t truck. DVSA seem to be everywhere right now. One of our tranny’s got pulled the other day.. 40 rolls of turf and a turf cutter, 3 guys - 800kg over.
  10. Very tidy, what do you recon the payload is compared to a tranny?
  11. I’ve had both but the 560’s all got scored pistons through auto-tune/fuelling issues. The 562 is a great saw but I’m surprised to hear that it’ll rip on a 28” bar... fair play. Mine runs an 18”
  12. You running skip or semi-skip on the 28” bar?
  13. I think it’s pretty close to that everywhere. Stubby. It never seems to amaze me, the wide variation of the value placed on human life, depending on where and who..
  14. Went in TK max on the weekend, nice orderly queue with masks and distancing on the way in. ‘Security’ person with a clicker keeping count. Store was only allowed 91 people at a time. Once inside not one person had the slightest awareness of personal space, let alone social distances. Most people were wearing their masks half way down their faces. Utterly pointless.. In America... statistically you have a 99.8% chance of full recovery if you catch Covid.... Yet, schools stay shut. The Governor of California says that they won’t open until things change... (!?). California has had zero child deaths and just one teenage death. Which begs the question.. what has to change?? You can’t Go to school... Open for business Meet family Go to church etc... But You can Go to the casino Protest march Riot Burn businesses Burn bibles and churches. If your a doctor and what you have experienced makes you want to step away from the current alarmist, fear-mongering, control narrative to speak out- then prepare to be de-platformed. I don’t have much of an axe to grind about face coverings.... if they help, then great....but it’s all the political agendas and control issues that get my back up..
  15. My TM ‘full fat’ goes out of date next year. Has stone tried the Notch Sentinel? Looks a great harness able to accommodate an extra bridge (for new ‘back-up’ system regs). Also cheaper than the new TM. Anyone?
  16. In an ideal world maybe. But we don’t live in an ideal world.... I can think of many instances where bias runs alongside science. ‘Scientism’ - the new religion - I think of people like Dawkins and Krauss.... plenty of bias going on there.
  17. The stuff of nightmares....
  18. Very sad news. I remember he had a great taste in music. RIP
  19. I know a guy who built a MEWP onto a before rascal. We used to run a Fiat Doblo for the tools and as an ‘advance party’ to get to the job and get set up. Tipper and chipper would follow later. It was an efficient way of working in some ways but running lots of different vehicles was costly so we ended up downsizing.
  20. It’s been a while.. still think the clogs were cooler and certainly more ‘authentic’ . New Rocks are more the preserve of ‘mummy’s little antifa’ types.
  21. I think you can still get them at New Model Army gigs .... [emoji41]
  22. The bit where he climbs up the dead branch does it for me. Must have watched that 20 times... Makes UK tree work look very tame.
  23. PM sent
  24. Haha.... I walked into band practice at church the other day and the bass player was sliding his way through Lou Reed’s ‘Walk on the wild side’. Not sure how well that would be received on the Snetzler.
