  2. Hi guys, Can anyone recommend a firm to hire a tracked chipper from near Sevenoaks for a week? What's a reasonable price? Thanks, Nick
  3. £0.37 + vat today for 500l 😀
  4. Hi guys, does anyone know where to get a new track motor for a Boxer 532D? Having trouble getting one from the normal channel. The old one is goosed. The bearings collapsed and the shaft is knackered. Helpfully boxer have made it so you can replace the bearing race inside! Thanks Nick
  5. I've found the slow payment problem has increased with domestic customers because of BACS. I remember few years ago whenever you finished a job some one was waiting with the cash or a cheque to settle up. Now I seem to give them my BACS details and for a lot of them it seems to be as and when they get round to doing it! 🙈
  6. Just paid 46p per litre for 500l in kent
  7. Anything new in the Stihl range about that size any good? Or an old 260 off eBAy?

  11. The boxer runs at 3000 psi and 42 litres per minute if that helps?
  12. Hi guys, Iam just building a log splitter for my Boxer. I am looking at using a kit from flowfit. I am splitting arb waste and trying to weigh up a 22ton ram with a 15 second cycle or a 16 ton ram with 11 second cycle. Any advice gratefully received! Thanks, Nick
  13. Don't forget if you do pull them to price in getting rid of the stumps and filling the holes afterwards!
  14. A few mutual friends have said he has history of random legal out bursts over the years. So maybe he is just nuts after all.
  15. It certainly is drama you can do with out over a tiny job for a mate. I honestly starting to think that Gary has gone a bit mad because it doesn't seem logical or rational to anyone! Maybe he's snapped over something else.
  16. Good Idea!
  17. Not really as it's the end of a long row of trees you can't really make them out on google earth.
  18. What would happen if I just put it in the bin?
  19. We ground out the stumps! 🙈 didn't expect it from a mate. Sue offered to replace the trees once she found out how angry he was. Surely you can't ask for compo because some one came on to your land?
  20. I didn't get it in writing as I know them both so well and they know each other so didn't bother. Surely his issue can only be with sue as I was just doing what she asked?
  21. I have found myself in a very awkward position this week. I have two friends who are neighbours at the bottom of my drive. Gary and Sue. They know each other very well and are directors of a company together. Gary's large garden has many trees which block the light out of Sues house. Gary is moving house in 4 weeks. Sue approached him to ask if she could have the 3 end ones cut down before he moves. He agreed. I got a call from Sue to price the job of there removal. A silver birch (25ft) oak tree (15ft) and Hazel (10ft). Once I agreed the price I said to confirm permission and access with Gary before we start. She phoned him that night to confirm and then texted me to say we had a green light to do it. After completing the job while Gary was away sue was very happy with the work. On Gary's return we both receive nasty phone calls saying he never gave permission for it all to be done. Today we both received solicitors letters saying he wants full size trees replaced. And now claims 7 were cut down not 3. He also wants compensation for the trespass and interfering with his property. Very strange situation to be in considering there both my friends. What are your thoughts? Thanks, Nick
  22. It's Radar, part of the stopped vehicle detection system
  23. It's amazing what the fear of being caught can do! Lol
  24. We use the term "tree inspection" when going for a pee on sight incase were overheard by the customer. I nearly got caught last week when looking casual having a pee behind a conifer. I felt a tap on my shoulder from the customer who had no idea what I was doing. He pointed over my shoulder at some old prickly branches on the floor and asked if I would mind putting them through the chipper. So I managed to stop peeing and bent down and picked up the pile of pee covered spikey branches covering the fact I was still hanging out. Then had to walk out in to the road and put them in the chipper hopper and rapidly put myself away before being arrested for having it dangling around in the street!
  25. It's nothing to get excited about.
