  1. Climber / Groundsman required for NPC Tree Surgery in Ightham near Sevenoaks, Kent. PAYE or subby please PM for details. Thanks, Nick
  2. I've got a new Danequip 27SP and it has been a solid bit of kit. I had a really old battered one. Such a relief to get the new one. Piece of mind with its reliability is great.
  3. Does anyone know where I can get one of these from? It's a Timber Wolf TW 3ssr. Are they available in the UK?
  4. I got caught out by them. Paid for an add in the police community club magazine. Then a few months later rung me to collect the money for the add i had taken out saying a name very similar to police community club Basically trying to confuse me in to paying for another add. I've had many phone calls since trying it on usually a polite man thanking me for supporting some sort of emergency service calling to collect payment and says your proof is already printed! Wise to it now!
  5. I have had the 28hp remote control and it has been an amazing bit of kit. I would definitely go for the diesel over the petrol as it is so cheap to run and there's hardly any difference in cutting speed. Having the remote makes life such easier as you can get in a position to see what your doing. I believe the reliability issues have been solved now like my new one. The guys at Predator are really helpful if you need anything. The narrow access is great, like other comments above you have to be realistic on where you can get it though with tight corners and delicate surfaces. We always put boards down if the ground looks suspect and haven't had an dramas yet. From only having a danequip Sp before it has made a world of difference on how much we can do and without breaking a sweat!
  6. Excellent news! The chipper ran spot on all day. Think it must of been the exhaust. Thanks for all your advice. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  11. Sorry the engine keeps running fine. Only when you turn it off and try to re start later on it won't start. You can hear the solenoid engaging but it won't turn the engine. If left for a while it will then turn over and start. Have blown through the oil cooler recently and checked again its still clear. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  12. Will give the blades a sharpen and see if it helps Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  14. Hi guys, I have got an air cooled Hatz engine which powers my Jensen chipper. It has a problem over heating at the moment so that when I've used it for a while the starter motor expands and won't start. It's burning a bit of oil too. When its cold starts no problem. Have checked the oil cooler to see if it was blocked and its clean and the fan works. Any Ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  15. Looks like a good idea to speed up bagging! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  16. I've had it a while now and think its great until I just read about the ear defenders not giving the right level if protection. Is the ear defender up grade available yet? Better go back to my old helmet for now I think.... Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  17. Hi guys, the time has come that I am now going to be forced in to VAT registration. The vast majority of our work is domestic at the moment. After Registration has anyone else noticed a shift towards commercial or VAT registered parish councils etc. I am aware from next month for my regular customers I will be 20% more expensive. Have people found it makes them a lot less competitive? Thanks for any input Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. I agree if you can knock them in with a basher that's the best bet. Have found the ground sooo hard at the moment that if your digging posts in with out concrete its difficult to tamp the soil back in tight while its so dry. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  19. My defender 130 has the turning circle of an oil tanker and that's with out being as long as an oil tanker! Lol Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  20. I would give a planning consultant a call because they could attend the meeting with you and answer any awkward questions and make sure you don't get stitched up by the council! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  21. Good news, had the Op. cost £3750 in the end. Had key hole surgery in the morning then home in the evening. Was really pain full for the first 3 days or so. Went back to work after 4 days just supervising. Within a week I was light lifting and by the end of second week doing easy climbing jobs. Glad I got it sorted so quickly!
