  1. God bless you for getting this thread back on track, Eggs. How it is legal in the first place for DC to receive a large amount of votes on the premise that he will not penalize families who are in work, get elected, and then do the opposite almost immediately once he gets in to power is just ridiculous. It's fraud in my eyes and it's completely shameful, I would hope the working-poor electorate will punish him for it at the next election. But then again, aren't we supposed to have kicked them out already on the basis of the Tory's 'contract with the electorate'? Please see here.
  2. I think people stopped paying attention to the rubbish matelot posts a while back...
  3. Seriously? We're not talking about the "scroungers" the Daily Mail would have you believe are the only people on benefits. We're talking about people who are already in work, working 30 hours a week and who have children and will now be significantly worse off from next year. Read here for info.
  4. I agree to some extent that with such an out of touch establishment there is only so much change we can hope for. We're happy to serve £1,300 bottles of champers (Western Daily Press), at taxpayer's expense, to the presidents of countries which execute 1000s without trial each year but we're not going to spend less than that on the tax credits of a single working parent thus pushing them and their kids closer or over the poverty line... Whether you're right or left in the UK I think most would agree the Labour Party would not have made such a vulgar attack on the poor and working class. I am not saying they are hugely better but I am at least convinced they're of a higher moral standing. I like Corbyn. He seems to be a decent guy, raising mostly valid points in a civilized way. The media's coverage of him has been nothing but shameful. Imagine the headlines if it was he that was making deals re. our national infrastructure with the communist party in China!
  5. Sadly I think she represents the electorate which gave them a majority in the first place.
  6. Yeah I do agree with you mate. But wouldn't it be easier to have talks or something rather than trusting them with a nuclear power station... Aren't the Chinese the kind of people we're supposed to believe spending £100,000,000,000.00 on Trident will keep us safe from.
  7. So Cameron used his big speech to to sling mud at Corbyn saying that he has a "Britain hating ideology"... I would say sucking up to brutal human rights abusers Saudi Arabia and bribing another one to build our nuclear power stations is more Britain-hating. Letting the steel industry fall causing 1000s of job losses too.. Also taking £1,000 a year in tax credits (BBC News) away from 3 million families and when the IFS (an independent body set up to impartially inform the public and hold the gov. to account!!!) says these ordinary working people will be "significantly worse off" despite any raises in minimum wage he then goes on the Marr show and says outright that they're wrong and he's right! I'm not a political person so if I've got something wrong please say and if this isn't the place the post this then I'm sorry. I actually struggled to get to sleep last night after thinking that tenants of my parents would need to find an extra two months rent due to the credit changes... It's all doublespeak. Lies on top of lies and if you get caught lying then lie some more because the public doesn't remember for very long. [ame= ] [/ame] I'm not a left wing loony and I realize the woman is only crying because she voted Tory thinking some other poor sod would get buttfucked by them and now she has instead. Surely this says a lot, I hoped she reflected for a moment. How did people genuinely believe the crap spouted by the Torys pre-election. Sorry for ranting, I'm housebound at the moment and may have began to lose it...
  8. No idea why we kicked for the line out instead going for the three points. Could have understood if it was the last play of the game but not with three minutes left on the clock!
  9. Good to hear, Sean. Glad that you are doing well. I've been going through a dark patch recently and reading your thread and seeing your positive mental attitude towards life has definitely given me some perspective.

  11. I'm not in agreement with Corbyn on a lot of things but I for one cannot see how public ownership of the railway is a bad thing. The railway systems in the Netherlands and Australia are both publicly owned and put ours to shame.
  12. Hey Sean, how are you holding up? Cool pictures on the other thread by the way. Cheers, Dan
  13. Hi mate, I'm doing the ABC Level 2 course through correspondence at the moment. It's a good course which goes into Soil, Physiology, Planting, Tree Surgery, Law and Ecology. In my opinion it's very in depth for a level 2 but along with your tickets I think it's a great start. Cheers, Dan
  14. Bottle of red for the mayor if it all goes tits up. Got me out of trouble once
  15. Unfortunately I can't see the gap between poor and average income people getting any smaller within the current government's term.
  16. I use Yale XTC 13mm with my HC on DdRT. 11mm Ocean Polyester for hitch.
  17. I always thought people used thinner ropes (like 11.7) for SRT as you're never really gripping the rope with your hands like in DdRT so you might as well save on the weight. May be way off though, haven't tried it yet!
  18. I'd also be interested to know this. Council work round here seems to vary from right back to the previous pollard to about 250mm above it.
