  1. Sounds like you're either incredibly tolerant or feel very sorry for this individual... He would have been sacked pronto by my boss way before he got to six months!
  2. Well, it kind of depends on why you have a record! Did the police speak to you when Mrs. Eggs applied for her certificate?
  3. Isn't it already the case that shotguns and non-automatic rifles are legal with sensible regulation for sports and pest control? I do not believe "personal protection" to be a valid reason for ownership nor do I believe guns should be allowed to be kept in central city postcodes and should instead be kept secure by the clubs at which they'll be used. I think for rural postcodes however it is fine to possess shotguns and rifles if they're in a proper gun safe and you have appropriate licences and background checks etc. The reason America has such a disastrous problem with gun control is because over there they are considered a 'right' and thus any attempt at mandatory licensing or background checks is seen as an attempt to make them a 'privilege' and is therefore an infringement on their rights. Just my thoughts, would be interested to hear others.

I can't recommend Star Wars unfortunately. I was really looking forward to it but due to the lack of campaign and having very few maps I got rather bored of it in under an hour. Maybe once some new maps are released it'll be a bit more interesting but until then I wouldn't bother. Not tried Hitman yet but I love stealth style games so I'll give it a look.

Either of you guys played Fallout 4 yet? Such a great game.
  6. 'Pre-soiled' pants... Seriously though, I'd go for a simple climbing set up so there's minimal attention required to your rig and you can focus on getting your confidence back.
  7. Have you tried selling by the A34 instead? That's close by.
  8. Yeah we are for sure. Such a beautiful place to live!
  9. Pretty much, I'm in east Devon and it's all middle class retired white people.
  10. Generally most pub chat is uniformed bollocks. People who spout on about immigration and Islam like it's destroying the country aren't that bright in my experience. Not to say they're not issues but way smaller than the media makes out.
  11. Aww and he didn't sing our special song either or bow low enough!
  12. It is very common for MPs to be involved with their constituents legal hearings often providing references and support etc. It looks like Corbyn was unaware of the man's actions back in May and has since condemned them. I don't see the problem personally.
  13. Banning all muslims from entering the US is how it is?
  14. Umunna, Kendall, Tristam Hunt & the other Blairite careerist politicians who have such contempt for the party members who voted overwhelmingly for Corbyn are going to ruin Labour's chance of election if they're allowed to continue sulking and spinning just because they didn't get their way. The public clearly don't want a Blairite party. Get in line and represent your members or bugger off imo.
  15. I'll just have a quick word with the other million or so landlords renting to those affected by the tax credit cuts. I reckon we can sort this out.
  16. Fair comment, Scotspine. I don't know the answer, if I was in the situation of the tenants I'd be stuck too. Both work full time, minimum wage jobs with a kid and they're £1,000 worse off because the government wants to save £4bn and Tory mantra dictates that you should take from the poor because they've the least to lose. It's easy to say (I realize you agree with me on this) 'well, you shouldn't rely on tax credits' but they only exist because it's legal for employers to pay a person working full time hours less than the cost of living. I don't agree with right-to-buy in any case, it's a lunacy which provides some people with massive windfalls of cash and leaves others stuck renting forever; whist at the same time dramatically reducing the social housing available which is more in demand than ever. One social house sold is one less social house forever. I would agree that there need to be more regulation in the private rental sector. A minority of landlords are real crapbags providing houses unfit for habitation and withholding deposits (especially in student lets).
  17. FFS communism and socialism are not the same thing!!!!! I'm grateful that we have a politician in a position of power who is actually like a normal run-of-the-mill human and not a millionaire Etonian born into money with nothing at all in common with the working class and a vested interest in keeping the rich the rich and increasing the gap between the haves and have-nots. I agree with you re. Obama sadly he has no chance of making any real change in the Incorporated States of America. Michael Moore's documentary 'Capitalism: A Love Story' details the current situation in the States pretty well. Sadly, the UK is going to go that way too if the Tories continue to make it harder for workers' unions and outsource our national infrastructure. 18. Sorry but communism and socialism are two incredibly different things. Socialism brought us the National Health Service, free state-run education and workers' unions and communism is just where the state owns everything and the population are treated like worker-mice (see Nineteen Eighty-Four).
  19. I would hardly call Obama a socialist. American politics is so ridiculously right-wing they'd probably think the Tories are positively liberal.
  20. Bailing the banks was necessary imo. What wasn't necessary was selling some of the the taxpayers' 80% stake in RBS at a ONE BILLION POUND LOSS so he could pay back his mates in the city. Osborne's ideology is that the state should own as little as possible and that RBS is somehow better off in the hands of the bankers who caused the financial crisis in the first place. If you aren't aware RBS has actually lost all of the £46bn invested by the tax payer anyway, something I don't recall seeing the news that often strangely enough... but they have been allowed to put over a billion of cash away for bonus payments in the past few years. The strategy of selling public assets and funneling the taxpayer cash into millionaires' pockets is pretty much what the Tory party does best. Next stop is the NHS. RBS were also allowed to place a massive tax credit on their balance sheet as an asset basically meaning that they will continue to pay no corporation tax even if they become profitable for several years to come... but that's for another day.
  21. I can't help but feel that Osborne knows what he's doing.. Propose a bill so horrid that the public, and the even the House of Lords will oppose it. Trash the Lords in the right-wing media to justify a reform of the House which is mostly non-Tory, but on Tory terms. Keep an eye on the Telegraph, everyone. Leave the Tories open to pass all matter of bills, further selling off of NHS assets to Tory donors etc. ...time to leave the house I think.
  22. Oh the irony of the undemocraticly unelected lords standing up for the working poor!
  23. I went to my local hospital the other day and there were loads of those dirty thieving immigrants the Sun keeps warning me about... One took my x-ray and the other was my doctor.
  24. I hear he's in negotiations with the Democratic Republic of the Congo re. his gardening requirements.
