  1. I run mine off a car battery charger. Sent from Outerspace.
  2. Agree with ya there:) Sent from Outerspace.
  3. I have had a customer call up who I have taken logs to in the past, they have now moved and its a 56 mile round trip. Just wondering how much to Charge for delivery? It's a double load 2 cube. It's up and down hills so not just a cruise and I'm int landy TD5 so will use about 2 gallon plus wear and tear. Any ideas peeps?? Sent from Outerspace.
  4. It's utter crap that's why. Sent from Outerspace.
  5. I have a TT 105 10x5 Ifor, its a very useful bit of equipment, I recently bought some steel ramps for it and it has become even more useful, it is well built and made to last. I have had to replace the electric junction box under the chassis recently and I was dreading it but I ordered the box online from an Ifor dealer and it was here next day. All the wires just slot on to marked connectors and that was that. The other Ifor trailer I had needed some of the steel replacing, I got onto the dealer who didn't have them in stock but got them sent direct from Ifor and took about a week as the had to get them laser cut to order. If I was you I would look around for a good second hand Ifor before the build quality changed. Sent from Outerspace.

    Hedge cut

How much do you charge per day to do your job? Then add on the saws, fuel, imsurance,Than that's what you should charge per day to cut the hedge, also add on the cost of waste removal and any helpers wage and there is your magic number. Sent from Outerspace.
  7. That's the one, so you reckon it does a good job? Have you tried them in your chipper yet? Sent from Outerspace.
  8. I've just had a look on their website and is it the planer blade jig? Sent from Outerspace.
  9. Where did you get the jig from Pat? Sent from Outerspace.
  10. I've just had a look on the web and they have that grinder for £489, it also says its water cooled so looks a good bit of kit. I currently pay £7.50 per blade to get mine sharpened so if I buy a jig and grinder it would take 85 sharpens to pay for it. If I had a fleet of chippers the it would be worth it i guess. Good to know though. Sent from Outerspace.
  11. Is it a special grinder made for blades? I didn't know it would do them hollow ground and if you can get them as good you say then fair play to you. Sent from Outerspace.
  12. I had a mk4 R32 and it was re mapped to 280 bhp, it was fricken awesome, sure the fuel consumption is pap but its was so much fun to drive. The only reason I got rid was because if I kept it I would of got a driving ban as it was so quick:) Sent from Outerspace.
  13. Exactly, I don't have the money to change so the better the devil you know. Sent from Outerspace.
  14. Good for you, I'm quite happy with my machine. Each to their own. Sent from Outerspace.
  15. The 1x37 takes 14". I have a manual operated one, does the job fine in my opinion. I guess it all comes down to how much money you have to spend. Sent from Outerspace.
  16. I send my blades back to get hollow ground and the come back like new, I have four sets of blades and just keep rotating them. Each to their own. As TW have said on here the makers advise hollow ground blades for a reason. Sent from Outerspace.
  17. But I have not had problems with mine so why would I want to say its poorly built?? I dont think its poorly built, there are 2 plastic side covers and everything else is metal, i look after my machine and wash it every week, grease it every week, check the oil and water daily and change the blades every 20-30 hours,I did the bearings after 600 hours. i had a fan blade chip at 500 hours and this was when I had hired it out and I think they put something through it that shouldn't have gone through, that's why I don't hire it anymore. if you keep the blades sharp and don't put sweepings up through then you won't have problems. If the blades are sharpened to manufactures spec then the bearing should last to at least 500 hours. I agree it would be better if the bearings were heavier duty with grease points. Maybe you have had a bad experience with TW but for me they have been fantastic as has the dealer backup and parts supply (next day) if I have a problem I can call up and get advice over the phone. Sent from Outerspace.
  18. They don't look as clean ground as when done on a proper hollow finding machine though. Sent from Outerspace.
  19. I will stick up for Timberwolf as I love em, I've had 2 and would recommend them. If you look after them and you maintain them well then you will get years of use from it. Yes there are other machines out there that people say are better etc but I can't comment on these as I've never used anything other than Timberwolf. Sent from Outerspace.
  20. Hi Mark, I got mine from M Large in Ireland. They are the main importer, I was told not to buy from in authorised dealers as this can void the warranty. There used to be a guy at Shap called Lakes Lumber Equipment that sold the Hakki Pilkie. Stuff but I don't think he is still about. Where are you based? Sent from Outerspace.
  21. I have a 1x37 and its 3 years old and great, if you look after it it won't give you any trouble. I would have another. Sent from Outerspace.
  22. I spoke as I found Bren, that's how I came up with my opinion on this matter. Everyone is different and I treat people like I would hope to be treated. Whether they reciprocate is a different matter. Sent from Outerspace.
  23. I shouldn't tar all the lads who help/helped me with the same brush though, the guys who help now a sound, they get a round in if we stop at the pub as well as me and a few of em bought my son a gift when he was born. I guess as another poster has said you can soon work out who is take, take, take and who is just a decent person. Sent from Outerspace.
  24. How bloody true Stevie, the better you treat em the worse they treat you. They can come to expect bonus and meals and early finish. Sod that, I too lent a lad money for a car, and when he was short I didn't get money for a couple of weeks, got it in the end. He went off and got a job elsewhere and now doesn't even reply to my txts. I look after myself now sod the rest. Sent from Outerspace.
  25. I was lucky to get 100 tonne at the beginning of the year so that will last me a bit but will soon be looking for more, the biggest problem I had last time I was going to buy some was getting a haulier, blooming nightmare. Sent from Outerspace.
